      Post Newton's Workbook

      Newton's Workbook

Thank you for providing such an amazing learning resource!

      Reality Checks:
      - finger through palm
      - Awareness
      - Questioning

      Dream Signs:
      - My home
      - My friends

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Consistently remember at least one dream a night
      - Discover some worthwhile dream signs

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Whenever I remember my dreams they are always really dull and lack detail, like a borign memory that's years old. I'd like to be able to Remember my dreams with more detail and richness
      - Have a lucid dream
      - Learn more about my attitudes, experiences and thoughts to make myself a better person

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - Had a dream journal for a few weeks many years ago, didn't truly commit to it. I have had a few lucid dreams but they were all short and had no detail

      Current Technique:
      DILD
Every few hours observe the world around me, is anything weirdly distorted or strange? Are my conversations about strange topics? Am I doing something I don't normally do? Also, can I remember what I've been doing the last hour? Use RCs to back up my conclusion.
I'm also going to try some meditation to help build focus and awareness of sound and touch.

Why do you want to lucid dream?
I want to lucid dream to learn more about myself, to actively improve myself and to experience something amazing.

In terms of what I plan to do, I would be quite happy just exploring to start out, firstly with wherever I happen to gain lucidity, and then trying out some locations of my own choosing (like a jungle or desert).

I went to sleep shortly after 11 and first woke at about 5:30. At first I hardly remembered anything but managed to salvage small amount of 3 different dreams. I went back to sleep for a few more hours but no more dreams after that.

Not much change. Still recalling a few dreams per night and my recall seems to be improving slightly.

I had my first lucid dream last night! The dream was going along quite boringly until I gained lucidity whilst breathing underwater. Everything became really clear as if out of a stupor. I immediately stabilized by rubbing my hands but my mind sort of faded, I got distracted and I can't remember anything after that. Recall is still not as great as I want it to be, I'll keep trying.

This morning I woke up but only managed to remember a small amount of my dream. However upon falling back asleep I found it really easy to remember my biggest and most detailed dream yet, and I really did not have to struggle much for the information at all. Is this what the WBTB method is all about? If so I may have to look into it more because it's really effective.

The main purpose of a wbtb is to raise one's awareness and help focus on having an ld, but maybe improved recall is a side effect of the higher awareness.
