      I am Generation VII!

      Greetings everyone!

My name is Christopher and i am very excited to begin a new journey in my dreams. Also i am very excited to have discovered this forum and website. Its true, Inception was something that undoubtedly had me thinking more about my dreams so i decided to finally act upon an interest i had been ignoring for quite some time. It all started my freshman year of high school when my very good friend introduced me to the film Waking Life. It is truly a mind opening film and got me very interested in my dreams but for the longest time i ignored the very basics of dream recall. i tried a dreamcatcher and that seemed to work but it would fade after a while. So last night, i did some research on dreaming and discovered some videos on youtube done by a lucid dreamer. His videos said to become aware of what you are trying to accomplish and repeat to yourself (audibly at first) "Tonight, i am going to remember my dreams." Over and over again. So with that i fell asleep and began to enter the dream. Even now i can remember with great enthusiasm and result, multiple dreams that i had last night. However this morning i had no dream journal to turn to. So today i went and bought myself one.

I just want everyone here to know how thrilled I am to have a support system like this. How excited i am to learn from people who have accomplished what i am looking to achieve. How encompassed i am but the imagination that i have in my waking life and to even fathom what could be possible in my dreams. I am hoping for life changing experiences, artistic and creative ideas, discovery, love and most of all satisfaction of seeing something like this through. I hope all of you are reading this and sharing some sort of thoughts about how you first felt when you found out about this, how enthralled you were when the impossible seemed possible and can share with your wisdom with me and help me relatively see what you have been able to see.

      Much obliged,
      VII

Hey, it's awesome to see that you're so excited to learn LDing and that your interested in dreams in general!
I love Waking Life - incredible movie, definitely one of my favorites. I haven't seen Inception yet, but it seems to be one for LDers to see, based on everything I've heard.

Just a tip, if you want to work on your recall - start writing your dreams down. Just adding that into my morning ritual helped my dream recall a ton. Give it a try.

Welcome to the forum, Chris. I'm in the same boat as you. I've always been interested in the power of dreams and our (potential) ability to control them but it took seeing "Inception" to finally get me to take the leap. I'm here with enthusiasm and I'm ready to apply myself. Nice to meetcha.
As children we believe anything is possible. As adults, we need to remember it.
