Only 2 nights before i had my first LD!

So the day before yesterday i randomly ran into this site. I was immediatley intrigued and knew i wanted to give this lucid dream thing a try. In the past i've the "wait, this is a dream!" moment and woke up but that was only when something bad was happening and i was trying to escape it.

So i started a dream journal yesterday, which was pretty easy seeing as i've always had usually good dream recall. The first night it seemed attempting a LD might be harder than i thought. Dreams just seem to move without any of my control over them and then i woke up thinking, "i should have known i was dreaming!"

Anyway, last night i went to bed thinking i reeeally want to have a LD. I woke up around 6 am and wrote down a few dreams, none of them being lucid ones, then went back to sleep. I woke up again later after another dream and decided a would write it down after trying to go back to sleep.

Suddenly, i am awake laying in my bed in my room but im drawing on this colorful board(hard to explain) when i write something i can't remember = dream. I stop for a moment and then look at my hand knowing it's a RC... and i four fingers, im lucid! i almost get too excited so i stop for a moment to collect myself. then i look at my other hand, which also has four fingers but then starts to morf. i noticed there seems to be no left/right hand difference though. So upon realizing im really dreaming i decide to get up and open my door. when i open it my dad is standing right there yet he seems out of focus. i hug him then move to the stairs deciding to try jumping! i jump from one landing to the next, landing very softly like i was floating, until i reach the bottom. I then leap and literally float by the kitchen until i land seeing my neighbor all while saying "look at me!" next i notice there's bag of food everywhere! piled all the way to the ceiling in some spots. so i decide to try a hamburger, although it tasted very greesy and chared! after that i felt myself slip into darkness and i knew i had woken up.

i honestly didnt expect to have an LD after only 2 nights! but i have a couple questions. how to i know that i was really lucid and it wasnt just my dream self thinking it was lucid and expecting to do RC's and try to float? Also my dream seemed very safe and everything was very familar, but how to a change where i am? and lastly when i feel that darkness coming on like im waking up how to i get back to the dream?

      Congrats!

and lastly when i feel that darkness coming on like im waking up how to i get back to the dream?
This is EXACTLY why I always tell people who are eager to learn how to lucid dream that they need to get the experience first before they can move into more advanced lucid dreaming technique. Just knowing what this blackness is and what its like makes the communication of techniques so much easier.

What you can do is called a DEILD. Basically what you do is when you feel the darkness coming on, keep telling yourself that you will not move at all upon wakening, and you will not open your eyes. You will wake up in sleep paralysis, but since you don't move, you will remain in sleep paralysis. Next, you may see some dream scenes, or you may image any dream scene you want (even the one you were just in!). When you see the dream, just focus really hard on 'moving forward' into the dream. People sometimes try to image 'rolling' forward into the dream, as it helps their mind disconnect more. The feeling varies, but for me it feels like something grabs my upper arms from infront of me, and yanks me into the dream (felt like a rollarcoaster ride, I love the feeling).

You will be in a dream fully conscious. This is like a WILD but instead of inducing SP, you just wake up in SP. You can keep doing this over and over again until its not doable (you'll just completely wake up). My friends have chained 5 lucid dreams in a row doing this method.

Search DEILD if you need more information. There are guides on it but its actually quite easy to pull off.
