      Hi, new person here!

My name is Melinda, and I've known about lucid dreaming for a long time. I've tried it before with some success, but I usually wake up when I actually realize I'm dreaming. I'd like to be able to explore the dreamscape I'm in more, so that's part of the reason I'd like to learn to lucid dream.

I'm still learning the ropes, so go easy...? Anyway, I'm really happy to have found this website.

Do you instantly wake up after you realize it is a dream or can you feel some sort of 'transition'? I'm not too sure but i would say if you feel a transition you should read this tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/dream-...utorial-95034/ which should explain how to stabalize and control the dream as soon as you realize it is a dream.
      I hope this helps

Sometimes I realize it and then I wake up after a couple of minutes. It's like, my thought process is "Oh hey, this is a dream. Oh cool! I'm realizing I'm dreaming! I should try something. AUGH NO MOM STOP YELLING AT ME TO WAKE UP, I'M DREAMING IT'S COOL" ... and then I wake up. I usually realize I'm dreaming towards the end anyway. I don't think I've had a controlled lucid dream.

I will definetly check that out. Thank you!

Well i hope it helps and i also heard that dream control may take a while to be used properly. On my second night i realized i was dreaming but didn't have control, but since then i have had very unrealistic dreams but just can't realize it, so i'm just trying to give it time.

Yeah, I'm not expecting to have full control for a while. I'm expecting a long and frustrating process. I heard that writing down your dreams helps, so I've been trying to do that. So far I've succeeded in a couple of recorded dreams, but not very many.

Yes recording your dreams really helps, i went from 0 dreams recalled to 4 in a week. And if you write them as you wake up it is really funny because when you wake up they may not make sense and you cannot remember them lol.

Well, that's a step in the right direction. Do you keep a dream journal next to your bed, or what?
