I have been attempting to WILD for a whole week now.
A week is nothing. I tried to WILD for nearly a month consistently without any results.
If you're new to lucid dreaming I really suggest by starting with DILDs. Most people find this a lot easier.
If you don't feel comfortable with that I have some advice for you. Bear in mind that I've only been able to WILD three times.
1. Most people don't let their minds drift away enough. A tricky part with WILDing is to find the perfect balance between staying awake and falling asleep. In most cases people will just never fall asleep. In order to dream you need to be asleep. This may sound silly, but it's really something most people don't think about when attempting to wild.
2. Patience is the key when it comes to lucid dreaming. I was in no way talented when I started with lucid dreaming. It works just like any other skill, practice makes perfect. Every juggler started out with three balls, not ten.
3. Don't stress during the transition. When your body becomes stiff and sleep paralysis kicks in, remain calm. Don't think about it, just go with it. If you see something, gently try to hold on to that image and lead yourself towards it.
Other than that, just keep practicing.
