      First experience and questions

So yesterday was my first attempt at learning the Skill of lucid dreaming. I remembered and wrote down 4 dreams and in the third one it came to point where i asked myself, am i dreaming? To which i concluded I was and then instantly i got an adrenaline rush type feeling and woke up. So my question is how to I remain calm
When I realize im in a dream.

      to Dreamviews, Ichampi0n!

For beginners, the realization that you're in a dream can be quite powerful. All I can suggest is in the moment, try to remain calm. Over the next few lucids you should eventually become used to realizing you're dreaming and the feeling will ebb.

You're on the right track by keeping records of your dreams. Also, I'm unaware of whether you're doing this or not, but regularly throughout the day stop and ask if you're dreaming. Make the times you do this completely random, not just when you see something strange.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Welcome to the DV

This thread reminds me of the first lucid dream i had, i had exactly the same problem. over time i learned 2 techniques that help to bring stability to your dreams

      Hand rubbing
when u realise u are dreaming you need to rub your hands together feel you hands concentrate on them. this wil help you to bring stability back to your dreams

      Spinning
just spin as fast as you can, feel the spinning motion and concentrate on it til your dream is stable again

      good luck with lucid dreaming.
i prefer hand rubbing because Spinning makes me loose vision and changes the dream scene

This is what I was going to suggest. Spinning and hand rubbing are used by lots of people to stay in the dream. Anyway good luck on your lucid dreaming journey and welcome to the community!

Once you find yourself lucid, try to ground yourself in the dream. Touch things, feel your dream body, ect. Try to interact with your surroundings so your attention does not shift back to your real body in bed.

It helps to have a simple plan ahead of time. Decide exactly what you want to do once you become lucid, and rehearse it in your mind. You can try one of the tasks of the month, if you need an idea. Once you find yourself lucid, don't give yourself time to wake up. Immediately start your planned routine. Reality check, ground yourself, and then go complete a simple task. Your task can be as simple as "Explore My House," or "Fly around the neighborhood." Start small, but be specific. I like things that involve movement through the environment.
