      Waking up to write DJ

Much of the times I wake up, I cant seem to remember the details from my dream. Lately, because of college, I haven't been able to keep a DJ, but now I am on vacations, I am trying to start keeping one. The problem about all this is that usually, I wake up with my phones alarm, and to shutdown the alarm my dream is interrupted to fast and I easily forget it. Sometimes it is my mother that wakes me up and that way it is impossible to remember the dream.
When this happens, I lay in my bed and close my eyes, but only 2 things happen, or I fall asleep or I can't seem to remember what my dream was about. Sometimes, during the morning I get up and something I see triggers my memory about the dream but this is very rare.
      1)What should I do?
2)Which is the best way to wakeup enough to remember a dream but still not falling asleep?
3)Is there a better way to remember dreams? I have heard about people that wakeup after each REM phase so they can write down the dream.

      Thanks in advance

Well, I find its easiest to remember when I wake up without an alarm. I just keep my eyes closed and do my best to remember every single possible detail of the dream. I repeat them over and over again in my head until I have it memorized perfectly. Then I open my eyes and write it down. The second you open your eyes, your brain starts to forget your dreams. So the trick is to keep your eyes closed upon waking and think things through before opening them. You could also try dictating a dream journal, if you have a suitable small recording device to keep nearby. Good luck!

      - When going to sleep at night say to yourself "I will remember my dreams." or "I will wake up after every dream" until you fall asleep. That should help you remember your dreams.
      - When you wake up, don't move at all. Moving will make it harder to remember your dream. Just lay there and think about the dream for a while, then roll over and write it down.
      - If you don't remember anything, ask yourself "What was I just dreaming?"
      - If you only remember the end of the dream, then try to figure out what happened right before what you remember. Then what happened right before that. Try to backtrack until you remember most of the dream.

I will try the recording device and not to move.
I just find it hard because unfortunately I wake up with alarm almost every morning, and I have to shut it down.
But in other hand, imagine I try to WILD, WBTB. I wakeup after 5-6 hours of sleeping, but the only way of waking up is with an alarm. What would you do in this case? You need to remember and to shutdown the alarm.

It's okay if you have to turn off the alarm, just don't get out of bed or anything. Just turn off the alarm and then continue to lay there for a while and think about the dream.
