      Nightmares/ Night terrors?

Guys I really need your help please. I have been having really bad nightmares for a few weeks now. They are usually about misscarrying. they are really gory and scary. they are usually new ones, but with the same general concept. Im pregnant, i move, i miscarry and i watch the baby die in my arms. The last one i had was very disturbing. it was different from all the others before. It sounds crazy and isnt for the weak stomached. I remember only little pieces. I remember a room or a tunnel with everything covered in blood. i remember seeing a person, i dont know if it was male or female picking up pieces of something. when i looked closer they were tiny body parts and throwing them aside. i remember falling to my knees and screaming. I woke up sobbing and in a cold sweat. help?????

You should start doing reality checks whenever you are scared, think about miscarrying, see/think about babies, see/think about blood, or anything related to these nightmares.

"Next time I am dreaming, I will realize that I am dreaming and control my emotions"
Repeat this manthra on each deep and relaxed breath before you going to sleep.
The last thought prior your sleep should be this.
      Good Luck

Ill try that thanks. Last nights was really bad. Woke up in a cold sweat and sobbing about 3 am. Normally Il talk to my Bf untill i fall asleep, and sometimes that helps. Last night i was unable to talk to him. I dont remember the dream at all but i remember bolting upright in my bed and having a feeling of complete dread. it took me forever to go back to sleep. Im starting to wonder if i have some sort of psychological disorder. Im 16 years old and having reoccuring nightmares and/or night terrors. Its to the point where im afraid to sleep at night. I wont post last nights dream unless asked in a private message because it is pretty gruesome. any help is appreciated

      Wow

That sounds terrifying. Good news is I really don't think theres anything wrong with you. Usually nightmares can indicate that something is troubling you. Instead of trying to block the nightmares (which almost always makes them worse) face them dead on. Don't be afraid to go to sleep. And think really hard about what they could mean in your waking life. Maybe you could start thinking about babies and birth etc. etc. in a really positive way? Or just to put your mind at ease (I'm not assuming anything lol) take a pregnancy test or something To see for positive that you ARE NOT pregnant could stop the dreams. Just don't try to ignore them or really try to stop them, from what I've read that usually makes them worse (well ignoring will work eventually..). And always remember, nothing can hurt you in your dreams and you are entirely sane i

I've had a string of night terrors lately, including one that was so bad, I was shrieking out loud and terrified my fiance. When I was a kid, I used to have a recurring nightmare that haunted me for years. When I lived at home, I would wake up in the middle of the night (always had a very real nightmare if I slept on my back), and I'd feel a presence in the room. Like I knew someone was in there because it just felt like it. I couldn't shake this feeling until I turned on the light to check.

The way I overcome my immediate terror was to prove it was just a dream. Nightmares invovling pregnancy, tap into a lot more emotions than I am, so using reason and rationally will be harder, but just as you'd do a reality check in a dream, have some items by the bed to do a reality check in real life.

I also think sthress is a huge factor for you, so ironically, by worrying about it, you may be triggering more dreams.

Welcome to DV! I started LD'ing because of my nightmares. Already few days after I began with all the exercises, reality checks & all the other stuff there was improvement. Even when it's not a LD I become more assertive. Good luck!
