Going to sleep while Lucid Dreaming?

I plan to start remembering my dreams and hope to soon be on the way to lucid dreamining, but I'm really curious about this one topic:

What happens if you go to sleep WHILE lucid dreaming?

      First of all, to DV!

What usually happens is that you wake up in reality, OR have a false awakening. Although, if your intention is set on something else while going to sleep in the dream, something else might happen.

      Good luck.

      Hey Plotted Welcome to DV!

As Xel said, you can either truly wake up, dream that you're waking up, or there's also the possibility that you can become lucid if you're aware of the fact that sleep = dream = possibility of becoming lucid.

If you've seen Inception and are wondering about that, I for one (and probably most people here as well) believe that you don't sink into another level of consciousness. You're still in a dream and while the intensity or emotion of the dream may change, there's no change in perceived time vs. real time or some "limbo" that you're going to fall into. It's still pretty much the same dream unless you really do wake up.
