Are you absolutely positive it was full Sleep Paralysis and not extreme heaviness / numbness / loss of feeling? .. I have to stress this point.
MANY people mistake Sleep Paralysis for what happens in Stage-3. SP should give you the feeling that you have no body, that you are just your mind, the feeling of being in a coma. Whereas Stage-3 is VERY similar. - An easy way to tell, if you do something small, does it ruin the entire process? Can you wiggle your any part of your body (like your finger or toe), if you had to, could you open your eyes and jump/jolt or get up?
Stage 3:
• Extreme relaxation
• Body tingles. Extreme heaviness of any/all body. Numbness of body/parts. Loss of feeling/location. Spinning. Rushes. Etc
• Change in body/limb tempeture
• Hypnogogic images
• Sounds (eg. A beep. twisting of metal, a small thump, a creek, wing passing through a tunnel, a whisper)
• Tightness on jaw and neck
• The urge to swallow
• Change in the ability to breath. (breaths may be jumpy or abnormal)
If you were at the point of the next stages;
- Your mouth would have been extremely dry, and you should have no wanting to swallow.
- You would be seeing a lot more than just HI. You would be seeing people/landscape/object, in color and usually some detail.
- You not be able to move any part of your body, or even wiggle a finger.
- You would have forgot about your mouth and your entire body. You would only notice your chest/breathing (if you are awake enough)
