you should start doing reality checks through out the day. consider your surroundings, ask yourself if you're dreaming, and then look at your hand and count your fingers(if you're dreaming there will be the wrong amount), try to push your finger through your palm(if you're dreaming it will go through) or plug your nose and try to breath(if you're dreaming you'll still get air). if you do this when you're awake, the behaviour will carry over into your dreams.
you have to really question your reality though, dont just go through the motions without thinking about what you're doing!

      good luck =)

      Hey, to DV!

The first step is to develop dream recall. Stay consisitent with your DJing, and you'll notice how your dream recall gradually increases.

In addition to this you should also question your surroundings as often as possible throughout the day.

"Where am I?", "how did I get here?", "does this situation make sense?", "do I remember waking up today?", "who are these people around me? Should they be here?", "do I remember putting these clothes on?", etc.

Really try to ask yourself if there is a possiblity that you're dreaming. You want to take your time and actually think things through logically before being like: "Nah, of course I'm not dreaming".

Otherwise, just keep going. It'll come eventually!

      Good luck!

You can also start out by reading through the Tutorials section. They have been written by the more experienced lucid dreamers of our community, so I highly recommend them.

My favorite reality check is double checking the time on a digital clock. For me, it is not only reliable, but discrete too. The finger through palm check, I've been asked if I was "OK", but no one can tell when I'm simply looking at the time.
