      Hello fellow dream-masters

Okay well I'm no dream master I'm more of a white belt
Ever since I was younger I was always fascinated with the ability to have lucid dreams. Of course back then I didn't know what it was called. It was always something that would just happen to me every once and a while. Several months ago I started doing much research into lucid dreaming but never did anything about it.
Just last night I forced myself to have a lucid dream and now I'm very excited about this whole idea! I started a dream journal last night as well. It was rather odd too...
Basically all it was I was looking at this brick wall and just out of no where letters started flipping as if they were stuck to the wall like the old Airport signs that showed your departure times. They just kept flipping and flipping making that ticking noise. What popped up was the word Lucid Dream and then it just slid off to the side and I couldn't see it. Then the letters kept flipping and I remember thinking to myself how great it was that I was actually aware while in the dream. The flipping letters continued and other words popped up that didn't seem to make any sense to me. It was basically gibberish. After about what seemed like 5 min it was gone and the next thing I remember was waking up.

I had tried my hardest not to let my conciseness fall asleep with me. Most of the time I would count my breaths as I was trying to fall asleep. This feeling of heaviness hit over my whole body hit me a couple times. The first time my arm twitched and snapped me out of it. The second time my eyes twitched. Then the next time my body went into paralysis I stayed there until the dream kicked in.

So anyway what I would really like to get out of this is to lessen my night terrors and walking in my sleep. Most weeks I will sleep walk at least 5 times. If lucid dreaming can help people have less nightmares I think it could help with the sleepwalking and night terrors.

I've heard it's possible to dream and sleepwalk at the same time, I wonder what happens if you lucid dream and sleepwalk, well, either way, welcome to dreamviews.

I'd be careful LDing if you're a known sleepwalker. You don't want to go jumping out your bedroom window during an FA because you know you can fly in the dream.

      Also, welcome to DV.

I've never done anything really dangerous when sleep walking. I've only had a couple night terrors in my life time.
Usually when I sleep walk it's when I've been under a lot of stress at work and I'm dreaming that I'm working but I'll be up and walking around doing tasks at work, but of course within my dreams.
If I ever do have a lucid dream while sleep walking I would think that would make me snap out of it. Most of the time when I sleep walk I don't realize that I'm dreaming so if I have a LD at that point I will become more aware of what I'm doing (at least I think so). We will see some day.

Wow, I never thought about this. I have sleepwalked on occasion as well, and have been told by roommates that I can carry on a nonsensical conversation with them while I am asleep.

Anyone know what happens if you LD or become aware during a sleepwalking episode? Do you just fall down???

People always say your never supposed to wake a sleepwalker... well my wife has woken me up (with a settle hand) and I had no problems, with the exception to a bit of confusion.

If I ever sleep walk, I hope someone wakes me up. I would hate to have them just hang out and watch me.

In my wife's case... she is used to it. But yeah if it were me I'd probably just watch the person. No I take that back. I'd video tape them.
