Can you know you're dreaming and not be lucid?

The odd time I'm dreaming I know I am dreaming but still carry on the way I would if I didn't know!

Like last week I woke up on my bed and was really tired so said I'd just ly there and go with whatever image came to me. It ended up me being still lying on my bed but with an owl type pokemon thing in my hand and showing it to my brother. I knew I was dreaming but just decided to go with it, I remember being fascinated with the level of detail I could notice on the owl thing, it was liked seeing a crystal clear hd image or something, but even though I knew I was dreaming I seemed to be acting as a non lucid version of me.
Then I said look because this is a dream I can get that owl to fly over there past my door and come back (I seemed to view coming back as something that would be impossible in real life!), the owl didn't come back. I got out of my bed and felt pretty wobbly for a moment when I stood up, I went after the owl and heard my bro coming up the stairs(despite him being with me in the room seconds before) and thought s**t I'm naked and this could be really embarrasing if I'm not actually dreaming, I can't take the risk, so said I'd close my door and have my lucid dream in my room... closed the door an woke up!

It was strange I seemed to know I was dreaming and was thinking it was a lucid dream but I had reactions like oh no I'm naked, my bro being in 2 places at once not seeming strange, wow look at this owl, and flying back is only a dream thing!

      Hey RcDreamer...
About a month ago,I had a dream where I knew it was a dream but wasn't lucid...
I was at my condominium's lobby going into the elevator when it happened...
I felt like a nightmare was coming(Usually I have that feeling beforehand)..
Only this time,it wasn't...I somehow knew I was dreaming because I felt that feeling and wanted a nightmare to come my way...
I came into the elevator and the floor button '9' was glowing means it was already pushed.(nothing special about that, but I though it could be a sign to my nightmare and to be taken as something spooky)
I pressed on my floor level and expected the elevator to stop or perhaps drop down and kill me...but nothing happened...
As I said,I somehow subconsciously wanted a nightmare,so I began pushing the wall of the elevator to perhaps break it or for something weird to happen...nothing did...
I arrived and began running towards my department...(There are 3 elevators and facing them is a long hall of 10 appartments left to right...mine is the last at the end of the long hall)
I began racing toward it as if something were chasing me,when in fact, nothing was...I then jumped up and was now flying in a standing position slowly lowering myself at the end of the hall...
      Stupid...right?
      There you have it!
      A dream where I knew it was a dream,but was not lucid...haha...
      -Sam
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

It's possible to dream that you know you're dreaming, but without any awareness or actual lucidity.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

"A lucid dream, in simplest terms, is a dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming" Wiki so I would say if you know you are dreaming it is a lucid dream. I have had LDs before without the though ever coming to me to control it. Normally because the story of the dream already was interesting enough.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.
