Hi citizensnips. Welcome to DV! |

First off let me say that I am new to lucid dreaming. My dream recall is good I remember 1 dream a night, and sometimes 2 dreams a night, and I record the dreams in a dream journal. I also have a dream when I take an afternoon nap. When I wake up in the middle of the night and in the morning I like to try FILD. I tap my fingers and against my mattress and soon my eyes start rolling rapidly in my head. My thumb on my other had sometimes twitches and my jaw shakes. After an estimated 10-30 seconds I perform a nose reality check. I close up my nose and try to breath. It usually fails and I open my eyes and see that I am not dreaming. Also, I don't like the nose RC. I turn on the lights and look at my hand and I realize that I am not dreaming. Sometimes when I open my eyes it feels like I open my eyes twice once in my subconscious then when I actually wake up. Am I doing it wrong or do I need more practice? |

Thank you snowboy. Although, I think I went overboard this afternoon with FILDing. I FILD'ed six times trying to go deeper into the dreamworld. When I tried going to sleep normally my eyes started to swirl fast in my head and I took a ten minute consciously without trying the FILD method. |

Give more time to the technique. You usually uses 30 seconds, try 45 or 1 minute. The nose RC is your best bet. |

First off, you need to past the excitement and the transition stage. Most of time, you'll not feel the transition, but you say you do (eyes moving, etc), after everythings calm down, imagine your room for a couple of seconds, then do a RC. If it works, open your eyes slowly - at this point, you may see random things, including your room, but with enough focus, the place will form after the correct visualization. Your room will not just ''form'' - you visualize it first, then open your eyes, normally. If everything go correct, you'll open your dream eyes and see your room. |

I visualized myself walking into my room after I felt the affects of the transition stage but when I did the nose RC I still moved my real body arm and I woke up and the RC failed. Perhaps I need more practice or visualize my room from the perspective of me laying in my bed. |
