      First Dream Recall

Well, I tried for the first time last night to "record" my dreams and I were successful! I didn't remember super little details, but I wrote down things like " Fantasy Factory with Rob Dyrdek"... " Big Clock said 12:02 "... " 3 teenage / early 20s girls crossing the street in a town where I live all riding the motorized wheelchair carts like you see at walmart for handicapped ". Stuff like that.

Again, it was my first time actually sitting and recollecting my dream and writting it down. It was pretty cool I must say, even though it wasn't Lucid. It was still awesome reliving what I did dream about. Its like having the lifetime memory ( which is what matters ) without having to try to perform the physical task which produces the memory ( Like in this case, handing out at the Fantasy Factory with Rob Dyrdek will always be a memory I can relive in my mind)

(I hope to use my LDing for more spiritual things like talking with dead loved ones... exploring etc )

I can relate, I'm only 5 nights into trying to remember & record my dreams. It's pretty cool when you do record them - like you said, at that point the memory's yours forever. Then I guess we can figure out what themes or places or people may be common to our dreams, I hear that's supposed to be used to help cue lucid dreams later, when we get to that point.

Since we're both starting out, may I suggest a tip from MasterMind that worked brilliantly for me for remembering even more dreams: In the "dream signs and recall" subforum he posted this thread "If you can't remember your dreams, TRY THIS!" (I'm not allowed to post links yet) where he suggested writing/typing a daily journal, like at the end of your day you write down as detailed as you like everything that happened, what you talked about with people, etc. A "waking journal" to go along with your dream journal. Other posters speculated that the reason this helps you remember your dreams better is because your brain doesn't have to work as hard to sort out your memories & info from the day during sleep, which makes sense to me.

Whatever the reason, it WORKED like a charm on my first try: After 4 nights of only remembering 1 dream, I tried MasterMind's suggestion & wrote about my day, and I remembered 3 dreams this morning! So I pass the suggestion on, see if it works, and try not to pressure yourself. Good luck, let me know how you do.
