Has anyone tried re-visiting their childhood while lucid dreaming??

I'm a newbie but would like to try this. I've had some success lucid dreaming, but I have trouble controlling my intentions. I'm not sure if this is possible or how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated..

You're having issues controlling your intentions... As in controlling your dreams? If you expect something to happen, it will. Expect a DC to be around the corner, or expect an anvil to fall from the sky... If you think and KNOW it'll happen, it will. Oh, and welcome to DV!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

puffin, always in all the threads i look into, lol.

not to sure this is a good idea, unless you lived a trauma free childhood, that would be the worst to LD and try to remember a childhood event and remember something you had blocked out of your consciousness, and then bam wake up in the morning to remember that u were touched as a child, or you saw your dog ran over.

I think you're blurring the line between dreams and memories.

When you LD yourself into your kindegarden classroom, for example, and make your body into that of a child, you're still having a dream. So if in the middle of the dream a gunman runs in and starts shooting, it doesn't mean that happened in real life when you were six. Just like a non-lucid dream, except you'd be even better off cause you'd have the control to get rid of outside forces that you don't want present in the dream.

i understand what your saying, but you gotta remember, he said re-living your childhood, so if your specifically remembering an actual event from back then, it'd be different than just imagining yourself as a kid again.

      Welcome, Tim

I'm wondering... is your problem more towards staying focused on your dream goals? The only thing I can suggest is to remind yourself that if the goal is especially important to you, to remind yourself that whatever fun things you want to do in the dream can wait until you accomplish this goal... the nice part about LD's is there will always be another one

      Eternal Childhood Home

Yes I did this and it was an excellent experience which lightens my load in life every day!

I was lucid and I focused on my childhood bedroom and bam I was there! Not a back-in-time room but, as I understood it, a room created in a nonphysical area that I could always go to. I was vividly lucid and touched everything, I knocked on tables, and felt the carpet amazed at how really real it all was, it really was all real! I saw both my two bikes as a kid there in the room. The room was perfect perhaps more perfect than it ever was in reality. A woman's thought said to me "you can always come back here." That made me happy and it still does.

That's something i've been wanting to do and something I thought of... I mean... I on't know how it is for other people, but here are litteraly 3+ years of my life I don't remember AT ALL!. I probably blocked it for some reason. Odds are it was part of my social problems as a child, something I've fixed now. I kinda wanna remember that time anyways.
