      another close call

well i was in the middle of a dream last night, their was something hanging from the ceiling and a wasp was flying around it and i was standing their staring at it, then i just suddenly said, wait.... this is a dream, and the instant i said that the dream faded to black and i started waking up, i tried to lay still and not move but i couldnt fall back to sleep again. so once again another close call but no lucidity

Wow, that's gotta be really frustrating. This usually happens to the first lucid dreams that a dreamer has and it just needs practice to keep it going. Most likely you may have been quite excited at the fact that you actually knew u were dreaming, am I right? Anyway I think you should look up Attaining a Lucid Dream, either here on Dream Views or look it up on Google. I'm sure the more experienced dreamers will post some tips on this thread to help you out with your problem
You're doing better than me, bro. Keep it up!

Hi hundredreas0ns. Nice to meet you. 8)

Ah! Close call indeed. That's very frustrating. Haha. Did you wake up because the excitement was too much? Gah, that's always so annoying. Good job, though.

Hey you can call that a lucid! As long as you knew it was a dream then its a lucid. What time was this dream when you woke up? Because if it was in the middle of the night you could have tried L-DEILD, anyway good luck and keep up the good work!

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

you know what guys, it wasn't even that i woke up because of excitement. i just came to the realization that it was a dream, and then it ended, and this was in the morning it happened. about 1 hour before i usually get up.

well, that's interesting. I can't give a logical explanation for that, maybe others can? But practice makes perfect so next time hopefully it'll last longer, just make sure to stabilize.
      Happy dreams
