Thread: 3jcool's prestentation :)

Hi people

I've been looking around topics on this forum since yesterday, and decided to introduce myself now. I already knew that lucid dreams exist before(tough I was not making any, or trying to have one either), a friend told me he was trying to have one, and that made me want to start trying to have LDs too ha ! The only one I remember having so far were nightmares, so yeah. (haha I also saw the movie Inception wich I think was soooo amazingg and I loved it, willing to watch it another time if I have the opportunity (: ).

I've searched a lot of information about LDs through many websites and so far, this forum is the best one I came accross ! yeah, really ! I started my own DJ this morning. I know I should have started that a long time ago, I wish I could recall my dreams better. When I wake up and can't even remember I have dreamt, I feel like I wasted or lost something precious, I think many people are loosing a lot by not being able to recall any dreams, like those saying " I don't dream " It makes me feel sad for them because dreaming is such a fantastic thing, I don't think we could live without it.

Well there are maybe some facts people should know about me, I'm a 16 years old girl and I'm from Québec ! So in fact, my first language is French, wich means my english isn't always perfect and I might make some weird/non-comprehensible sentences sometimes ha ! But it's not so bad now, (actually I can write way better in english than in french. yeah, french is really hard you know ?) I'm also a musiscian. I've been playing trumpet for now 2 years (but I practice so much some people tough I had been playing for 6 years ! lol) I play with school, in a jazzband, in an orchestra, in cadets and even in a brass quintet ! I looove music playing and I'm sur there are other musiscian on this forum I'd really like to talk with any people about trumpet/music or anything like that. If you play of any instrument, tell me in this post ! I'd really enjoy to know who's a musiscian on here !! heh

So, that's what you need to know(for now) about me (: I just can't wait to be part of this community and start LD like you !

Welcome to the forums! I'm glad to see that you are so excited about lucid dreaming. My words of wisdom are that you shouldn't be disappointed if it takes a while for you to have your first LD. It took me three months of keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks before I had one, but obviously that varies greatly from person to person. Lately I haven't been keeping up on my DJ, or even my RCs, but the days I do remember to do a couple of RCs I usually end up having an LD, so keep up those RCs and eventually they will pop up in your dreams and you will hopefully become lucid! I wish you the best of luck!

Also, a side note: I used to play the trumpet in elementary school. I was also in Jazz band, but I no longer play. It is a very fun instrument though!

As for the amount of time before having a LD, that's exactly like verbalexost here said.

It took me 2 days before I had my first LD, but then it took 2-3 weeks until the next one.

Whoa, more musicians in the forum n_n. I also play in an big band jazz orchestra (I play electric guitar) and I've got a band.

I once composed a piece in my dreams with a whole orchestra playing it with me D:

What a shame that when I woke up I couldn't remember it!

Well, for the LDs part I'll take my time, I'm not really rushed to have one because for now, I can barely remember one dream in my night.
All I can recall is impressions, images, it's really unclear haha I have to guess a little most of the time. I'll start to improve my "dream recalling skills" first, anyway, what's the point
having a LD if I can't even remember it ?

And sometimes, it scares me a little bit. What our minds can do is so awesome that, we can't even totaly understand it yet, I've read on the forums stuff about the shared dreams
and the dream plane thing. It was a bit scarry haha.. So I'll really take my time not to rush things and avoid bad experiences.

Yeah, that's one of the things I planed to do Playing trumpet in a LD. And maybe I could find some badass solo/improvisation ideas there for my Jazzband

I've just always had that one since I started playing on a computer.
I wouldn't see it as anything else (such as 4jcool or 3kcool), would just be akward to me.

It comes from my family where 3 of us have their names starting with a J.
Took the idea from my mom's email wich sounds like "m3j_ourfamilyname_" (my dad's name starts with a M "
And it became 3jcool It's not a common name so, usually whenever I go I can always use it, it's never taken.

Yeah about the Sig it was suppose to be like a list of ten but it wouldn't take it. So I shorted it and forgot to renumber it.

About the english, I do pretty much the same with Portuguese, which is my mother languague, hehe. I seem to have a big ease with other languages.

Ya I totally feel the same way about people not having dreams. Its really trips me out when people don't care about dreams at all because they can be amazing experiences and they are also a goldmine of symbolic knowledge. Ya I'm also 16 years old except I'm a boy who lives in California
