      Hi guys...another newbie here :)

Hi...I've been trying to have lucid dreams for a few months now I guess....that and astral projection/oobe's. I haven't had much success yet except for one instance. I was in the middle of a dream....dreaming that I was at an airport...all of a sudden for no reason I thought "wait a second...I'm dreaming...awesome! I'm having a lucid dream!"...but it ended soon after. In the morning it felt like it had just been a dream and that I'd dreamt about lucid dreaming...which was confusing.

Just last night I dreamt that I was on a bus and asking the driver how to have a lucid dream....he told me to lie down and that I would have one....then in the dream...I was having a lucid dream for a moment...but that was just what my dream me was doing....once again...confusing.

Finally a problem I have with lucid dreaming is that most of my dreams involve things that have happened to me in the past. e.g. when I was young I'd often worry about missing the school bus, now I dream about waiting for the school bus and I'm so intent on not missing it that I never realise it's a dream. I never do anything like flying or having giant feet or anything crazy so I always just think it's real life, but in the past. Hmmmmmmm........

I should also add...last night I had a nice experience...I was doing my usual bed time lying on my bed relaxing...I was listening to some music (Kitaro). When I started falling asleep (random nonsensical thoughts coming in to my head), I tried to really relax and zone out. The blackness in front of my eyes changed to look like a big swirling space (instead of just plane black with some white shapes every so often), and my whole body went completely numb. Nothing else occured after this despite me continuing my relaxing for a while so I just rolled over and went to sleep...(see dream above )

      Hello

      Welcome diablo457

You have definitely been close to having, if not have had a lucid dream. Actually it sounds to me like the first experiance was. Because it was so brief though it may have been vague come morning. As you most likley moke up after that or any other dream, try to write them down.

The latter experiance sounds like you were having some hynagogic imagery. And quite possibly been close to a WILD - Wake intiated Lucid Dream.
You can find information on all this and many more topics in the tutorial section of the forum. And you can feel free to ask questions or PM one of us.

      Hi diablo457 and welcome!

Howetzer pretty much said it all! Reading the tutorials and other members posts will help you a great deal.

As a side note: I love Kitaro

Welcome Mr. diablo (that used to be one of my favorite games) I'm sure you're close to a real LD so just keep working at it.

Hey, very interesting thoughs you've got there, it seems to me like you are in the infant stages of getting into lucidity. I've often dreamed about having a lucid dream when I was activly studing it, since dreams have a lot to do with that you spend your time thinking about. (Subconcious or otherwise). Remember however if you get to into it and to intense in your training it will often not come, be sure to take small breaks and sleep normally, you may be suprised.

      Cheers, and welcome to DVs!

my first LD was the same, short, it lasted about 25 secs from the point i relized i was dreaming to the point i could again move my normal body, although short it was profoundly moving, ( this was my first and so far only LD ) but there was no doubt in my mind what i had experienced, i kept reading " you will know when you have a LD" and now i know what they meant.

Strange isn't it...one thing I do remember is that everything became more vivid and clear (something I've read seems to happen)....usually my dreams seem to hardly have any light and it's hard to see what a lot of things are....but for that brief moment I could clearly see the whole airport around me...the sky was bright orange....I was really happy for that time...someone else was near me but I'm not sure who...then I lost control and it went back to a normal dream...
