Smile My first "lucid" dream. question

I've tried to lucid dream in the past but I didn't reach my goal.
Now I've been trying to do it, and i finally had a lucid dream yesterday night.

I was in a mall/hotel and i was slowly being chased by someone.
I was just walking down and up stairs at a steady pace to avoid this person.
Then all of a sudden I gasped, "I'm dreaming". then i continued doing what i was doing to avoid from waking up from over excitement.
the only thing, is that i did realize i was dreaming but I didn't take much notice or realize the full potential of my abilities and surroundings.
I did shake my head back and forth in order to get the person from chasing me (doing this changed my followers attitude, so they were not after me in a scary or violent way)

later I was starting to rerealize how amazing it was that i was dreaming, and i thought "am i really dreaming?" and so i started to shake my head back and forth to wake myself up. Halfway through doing this I realized that i didn't want to wake up and should continue dreaming but it was too late, i woke up shaking my head back and forth

my question is, does anyone else have lucid dreams where they become lucid but still are not "rational" enough to realize the weight of the situation? Is this common for beginners?

Its usually called semi-lucid dreams, when one may 'know' that are dreaming, but don't realize the true meaning of this, just go with the flow of the dream.

ok, that sounds right In this case I would say try a couple more reality checks so you know for sure this is a dream.

Usually the person have no control over this kind of lucid. They just barely realize the dreaming state, so there would be no way to try some RCs. It happens to just pop in their minds that they are dreaming, they, usually, don't follow any RCs, remaining at a low-level lucidity.

As I said, this kind of dream the dreamer have no control at all, the tought of being dreaming went by his mind, but wasn't assimilated, so it was like a normal dream with the tought of being dreaming - tough it, theorically, count as lucid. So you couldn't tell your self that it was a dream or anything, only if you was aware enough before to do a reality check, then it wouldn't be ''semi-lucid'' (I don't like to use this term, there are people who disagree about semi-lucid existing or not, tough I belive it does, and have experienced it lots of times).

well anyways, it was alright. i feel like it was somewhat lucid (semi-lucid or whatev). i even changing stuff with shaking my head (this was my version of spinning) but it only changed my mood and my followers mood so that i wasn't in a panic of being chased.
Ill continue to try and lucid dream.

      quick question
I can't WILD unless I'm already at a tired state
Like before i go to bed, the REM doesn't kick in til later, so there's no chance of WILD?
