Was this my first successful LD or a normal dream?

Well I was really sick this morning so I couldn't go to school and had nothing to do and was really tired, so I laid down on my couch and tried to LD. I fell asleep very fast and I went through SP then I remember being in my dream and understanding it was a dream from the start, my two dogs were there even though one of them is dead irl, and they followed me around like they would irl. That's when I remembered about this place and that you could mess with your dream so I started doing that stuff and it all worked out, to summarize this; I can't tell if this was a lucid or if it was just a strange dream because, the further into the dream parts of the environment(my house) were becoming disfigured as in: A mirror that is on my wall was for no reason on my door instead, and things looked faded in color...

If you realized you were dreaming while still in the dream, then you had a lucid dream. Awareness is all you need for a dream to be a lucid one.

      Congrats!

Yep! It doesn't matter what technique you used, your 1st lucid is your 1st lucid.
