Looking for similarities. Hopefully someone has the same type of experiences.

      Good evening,

I feel strange even writing this. I know what I would like to reap from understanding these experiences, but I only have so many tools at my disposal.

I guess I've had "lucid dreams" since I was approx. 7rs old or so. Extremely realistic events. Some, upon waking, I cannot distinguish from reality. For all I know, it DID happen.

Every story I read or happen upon about "lucid dreaming" either involves ; flying, spooky sounds, almost hokum. I don't have those visions.

I've had vivid, ultra emotional visions, yet in every instance I've retained my own identity. I am always "me" except in odd/different circumstances with a different "role". Meaning, the time period may change, (yet, it's never in the past. Always present or slight future.), some form of "astral projection" (it's the only term I can think of to best describe, other than my consciousness possessing a person that is fully awake.) I am always myself in morals, identity, physical features (only mild differences ever occur in the physical)

The main constant is that they are all very possible events. They are not so fantastical that would seem complete fantasy. Some take on a "sci-fi" feel at times, yet Star Wars or Trek would never come to mind, and the emotions are always heightened. So much so, that upon waking I cannot slough off the sadness, loss, etc.

Despite the overwhelming emotions, I revel in the experiences. I know that there must be some purpose for them. Something other that the brain trying to organize. They are all interconnected in some primal way.

I'm a very spiritual person. Some of my "dreams", I believe, are views into another plane maybe.

I do apologize for the liberal use of the quotation marks.

Thank you for your time. Any information that you would like to share would be appreciated. Any questions of me would be welcomed as well.

I don't have that exact experience. Everyone has dreams where they're winning the super-bowl or running away from bikeys on a Harley Davidson with a hidden force field activated to keep them safe. These involve putting yourself in a different role than your every-day life, but your case sounds different. It seems more focused on adopting another person's life or role rather than you having been changed, or having developed some new and fantastic skill, to fit into a situation.

You strike me as someone who would have to be rather empathetic to have dreams like this — you're good at imagining how someone else feels or how it would be if you were in someone else's shoes.. You also strike me as someone who might make a decent actor somewhere down the line.

      Hi,
It would be interesting to question what self means because if you consider it`s always been yourself but in different roles preserving some sense of identity, moral and physical shape you mean something in you never change. In my dreams I have the same feeling most of the times but if I pay close attention there´s always something different. The physical shape may chage and even morality may change but the sense of identity remains.
