Welcome!

I've never dreamt in 3rd person (that I can remember), but a lot of other people say they do often, so I'd say it's normal for you.

Might be kind of tough to have a controlled LD that way, though.

Dont worry about it. In mydreams I alwys see them from 3rd and 1st person views at the same time. I dont knwo how to desribe it, my mind can just have both memories at the same times fomr the 2 views.

this is what my dreams are mostly like.

usually when i can see bodies of people, i.e. arms and legs, including my own, i am in 3rd person mode. i dont remeber seeing my own hands and feet often.

i usually find my self felling like im in the corner watching everyhting but, i can still hear and feel like im in the middle of the action, sort of like barbizzle both at once.

Hi and welcome someguy

I have had many dreams in the third person. None of which were lucid though. This is a very interesting question.

Maybe you can try to begin to incubate dreams by thinking of them before you go to sleep. And when you do try to picture yourself as if you were the main character.
Or maybe you can use similar techniques but apply "third person to it". For example. One would normally go to bed repeating the phrase something similar to > I am going to remember to recognize when I am dreaming. You on the other hand could say that you will remember next time I see a certain dream sign or character. It would not matter then what perspective you are looking at it from. Rather the mental perspective.

Most of the time I dream in first person, But some times in dreams It will switch back and forth.

And I was just thinking, if you dream in 3'rd person, then thats a pretty darn good dream sign!

I will often dream both in the third and first person, there is no 'normal' with dreaming everyone has their own unique experience.

Anyways.. Welcome!

More often than not I dream in 3rd person (and one of my very first, if not the first, posts was about that). I've also found that on the times I did LD, I was always in 3rd person at some point. I like to call it my camera-view because it seems more like I'm a spectator of others character's actions.

Welcome to DV I'm sure you'll have an LD any time. Just keep at it!

I find that in most of my dream I switch between 3rd and 1st person views.... has anyone ever had a "2nd" person view (eg: look at yourself as someone else??) Interestingly most of the time I find that I start in 3rd person and switch into 1st person later on...
There are great truths and there are trivial truths. The opposite of a trivial truth is obviously false. The opposite of a great truth is also true.

I'm always switching views

You'll have to forgive me, I'm beyond newbie, I'm a newbie virgin if you will.

As to your coment, Yes I switch views all the time and have always wondered what the hell that was all about. I will be mayself talking to someone and then morph into them talking to what was once myself! It's an unusual expirence.
