      hey there i'm new

I'm a male, in a month i will turn 18, I have been trying to get lucid dreams since i was 14 i think, maybe even before that. but i had a few problems (i wanted to grow up and not mess my sleep, and i had some other stuff that just didn't allow me trying to achieve lucid dreams). so eventually i stopped.

Recently i've been exposed to this again, and since i find it to be such a good way to use my time as i sleep, I have decided to try again, hopefully this time i will succeed (as last time i managed to get only two lucid dreams )

Thats it, im quite familiar with all the terms, techniques and stuff, but one question bothers me.
After you wake up, do you feel your lucid dream as a hazy memory, or as a clear bright memory that you've been there and you chose what to do and where to be, what to say...
maybe this can be achieved after you are experienced with lucid dreaming?

      thanks, LyS.

      Welcome to DV!

Usually my recall depends on the dream itself, if it was stable, unstable, fuzzy, vivid, clear thinking, unclear thinking, if I was semi-lucid, &c, &c, &c. My recall is usually better the closer to the time it was I woke up, but I usually forget them by the time I am finished getting ready for the day.

      I hope I helped!

I can usually tell what I was thinking, what was going on, all the little details when I lucid Dream. Though not always, Lucidity increases the clarity of your dream, so it will be better than your average dream as far as the memory and the plot and the vividness of the dream increases, its alot easier to remember Lucid Dreams than regular dreams.

      Thanks guys!
Another question that popped onto my mind :

      - Can i learn while lucid dreaming? can I actually remember what i've decided that i'd learn and get that information? thats part of the thing that attracts me in lucid dreaming .... The ability to actually USE my time while i sleep for good.

For instance i'd decide to learn to play something on my drums (i've been playing a while) so i could actually learn it? I don't expect to learn history... but .. huh .. other stuff?

      Thanks. LyS.

It's a possibility, but I doubt you would actually want to do it or actually remember to do it in your dreams. There's much better stuff to do than try to learn things in your sleep! Plus, I don't think it would be very easy to play drums correctly in dreams. The nature of dreams isn't as consistent as the waking world. Also, when you're asleep you're already processing learned information and putting it in a more long-term storage, so there's not much use in trying, especially if you try to learn it just before bed.

I hope I answered your question! There's a thanks button, BTW!

Ha, I have no DJ advice, but I have lots of other advice, ironically. I know lots of stuff about LDing but DJs are not my area. Sorry! I only write down my more significant dreams. Good luck LDing!

Usually, my memories of lucid dreams are quite clear and bright, but they fade away and become hazy over the course of the next day, so I always make sure to write a dream journal entry as soon as possible.
Short-term lucid goals: [X] Move an object with my mind [ ] Create a portal and use it to get to a dream scene of my choice [ ] Meet one of my book characters

Long-term lucid goals: [ ] Visit the Dream World Academy [ ] Make a building appear at will [ ] Change my appearance to disguise myself as someone else [ ] Find the end of a rainbow

It can also keep you awake at night, so be careful! (Vitamin B6 increases brain activity, which results in more vivid dreams. This can also cause you to have trouble falling asleep)
