The connection between dreams and the physical

Hi , i am new to the forum, and new to everything actually, i have only just started to discovery some of these strange phenomenom which occurs inside our heads, and i am very keen and excited to explore further. I have been thinking about the mind and how when we dream and are inside our dream, we want to realize that we are dreaming so that we can be conscious and awake during that time. So the dream is a dream to us, but is it a reality to something(someone) else. Thats assuming my identity is a false one. That made me wonder is our reality ( The one we physically wake up to in the mornings ) just a dream to another identity, another identity inside of me? ... if so ... is that identity able to take contrl of my physical reality to some degree or maybe even modify it , like we can do in our dreams. If there was any truth to this, then it would really freak me out, i don't want to be afraid of fear or even feel fear, but i have always been a fearful person and i find it ever so hard to ignore and confront it.

u mean if we in reallity can do stuff like flying because its a dream too useing this theory

I had this happen last night. I was shot with an arrow in my dream, and felt the pain for several minutes after I woke up. I reached down to my belly, fully expecting to feel the shaft of the arrow. It was so convincing, I had to double check to make sure it wasn't a false awakening.

more that i am concerned that by connecting to my dreams , i will be also be connected to in reality by something else

All you're doing by seeking lucidity is taking control of your dreams. You're not exposing yourself to any risks, nor putting yourself in any kind of danger. Learning to lucid dream is no more dangerous than learning to play sudoku.

It's like the halucinations you would have on certain drugs, except your mind has a convient "OFF" switch to keep you from getting up and running out the door to escape those creepy-crawlies.

Relax, and enjoy learning to LD.
