      Dreaming Locations

In my dreams I find I regularly visit some of the same places. I realised this morning I had been in a dream where there were grassy hills and small mountains. Everything had a really warm orange glow to it and was generally a nice place to be. It had a very fixed form and didnt change like usual. The odd thing is I think Ive been to this place in previous dreams. I dont think its based on anything but It seems to be a sort of Island I sometimes dream on.
I found out that I've visited another place too. It's an urban area, where there are two tigers next to a waterfall on one side, and a huge sculpture of something else on the other side. I have been down one of the streets of this place in a different dream.
My locations seem quite important in my dreams, And some of them I have seen in real life, places Ive never been before but visit months and in some cases years later.
This has happened to me since I was young and locations seem really quite important and reccurring. Anyone know why this might be happening?

The first assumption would be that you attribute some special feeling or memory to the locations in question. Could that idea have any merit?
Failing that, it could simply be that these locations are where you feel most comfortable.

I believe I recently created, for myself, a little sanctuary — It's a pub on the beach — I visited it twice in one night. This is probably because I'm hating my job right now and have been planning to move and to get away in general. Dreams normally, or at least often, reflect reality, so you need to look at yourself for the answers.

Yes I think its probably something to do feeling good in these places. They are all very vivid, calm and the landscapes are quite amazing considering its a dream. Thanks alot for your reply!

You're lucky that your recurring dream locations are so pleasant and peaceful.

well yes alot of them are but I used to have some horrible recurring dream locations. One was a hotel made out of severed body bits... they were really bad dreams...

You can use this change of scenery to your advantage. In a dream, ask your self, "Wasnt I at home a little while ago? How did i get here?".
If you cannot logically answer this question, you are dreaming.
      Good luck!
