      Controling my dreams.

I have recently found my self controlling (parts of) my dreams. At first it was cool, i enjoyed it very much, but now it's getting really annoying. I wake up tired, feeling like I haven't slept at all. Also i sleep almost twice as much, and i find it hard to wake up. Last night i slept for 14 hours and i still felt like i could sleep a bit more. I would like to know a way to stop this if it is possible, or at the very least control when it happens. Thank you

Try drinking a lot of water before going to bed, having to go to the bathroom should get you out of the bed

Ha, that would work pretty good!

Now, that's a strange problem. I have never heard of it, so I'm not sure if I can supply a solution that may work. I think that you may just need more sleep nowadays, but 14 hours is a lot of sleep and could definitely affect your life. I say you choose a time where you feel you will have had enough sleep before this started happening, then set an alarm clock for it. That way you get up at a consistent time every day and you will have gotten plenty of sleep. If the alarm clock doesn't work (as in it won't wake you up), buy one of those REALLY loud alarm clocks and see if that works. I can only remember one at the moment, but it's called Sonic Alert alarm clock.

I hope I helped, and welcome to DV!

that would be a good solution to my problem, but as i wake up tired and still very sleepy i just turn off the alarm clock and go back to sleep. I wake up a few hours later not remembering turning off the alarm. Sometimes i like the dreams so much i just continue sleeping even though I KNOW i can wake.
I have read about this quite a bit and as far as i understand some people even go through quite a lot if mind training exercises to achieve this kind of sleep control, but i don't really want this, I just want to go back to my normal 8 hour sleep.
I have noticed that usually my dreams are about the stuff i think about before falling a sleep. It is hard though not to think about anything before sleeping. You're alone with your thoughts, just lying there, your mind wonders...
I'm not saying i don't like the lucid dreams i have. Man, i can do anything - fly, have any house, any car i have ever dreamed of, but it's just too tiering.
Maybe there is some technique of controlling it?

I don't know how to control the problem, as I have never heard of this before until now. I'm actually jealous of you right now since you have lots of extra time to practice LDing, even more so since your dreams are made up of what you were thinking of when you went to sleep. That is just awesome, but that isn't the point of this thread.

This may be a drastic solution, but maybe you could see a doctor about this. A psychiatrist/psychologist (I still get confused about the two different terms) or a physical doctor and see if they can come up with anything. This may be the best solution if your problem doesn't let up soon.

Anyway, I hope your sleep gets back to normal soon!
