Hello, I'm new to Lucid Dreaming.

Hi I'm LePurp, and I'm new to Lucid dreaming but highly interested. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

I have started keeping a dream log.

      Hi LePurp, welcome to Dreamviews!

Recall's a pretty important part of lucid dreaming, so it's good you've already started to keep a journal. The next thing you should do, if you haven't already, is check out the tutorials in the Dreamviews Wiki. The main techniques people use for lucid dreaming are MILD, DILD, and WILD. If you want another tutorial on DILD, I've made my own tutorial which is linked in my signature.

DILD stands for dream induced lucid dream, meaning you suddenly become lucid, through awareness, when you're already in the dream.
MILD stands for mnemonic induced lucid dream, which means you use autosuggestion .
WILD is wake induced lucid dream, and involves relaxing, entering sleep paralysis, and going directly from a waking state to the dream state.

All three have their drawbacks and advantages, so it's purely up to you in regards to which one you'd like to start with. There are also a lot more different techniques, which are also covered in the Wiki.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me, or another dream guide!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Check out the DV Wiki to get started. There is a lot of good information in there.

I have been reading the wiki, and I came across music. Binaural beats? I was interested in how these types of music can affect one's mind. I'm litsening to gamma right now...makes me feel weird...

I'm looking into DILD and WILD techniques, mostly because I find it hard to lie still when I wake up.
