      Hi, everyone, Noob here

Hey yall, I'm Lotus, new to the forum. I've been joining a few new forums this past week, because I've been wanting to explore my own personal interests more avidly than I have in the past.
I've been changing a lot of things in my life lately - my diet, my room, my mental and physical health routines, my energy, my attitude, morale, etc. Things are looking better for me since I've decided to put more time and energy into myself.

So part of my re-discovery of myself is delving back into my dreams. I have pretty good dream recall - I always tell my boyfriend what wacky, nonsensical dreams I had during the night and he gives me odd looks.
I haven't had a lucid dream in a long time, but I'd like to try getting more control over my ability to have lucid dreams. I have had lucid dreams before where I was aware I was dreaming, had control over myself and my thoughts but not the dream, and then I've had dreams where I could control the content, time, space, location, etc...like pressing the channel button on a TV remote control - but I felt more like an observer in it rather than an active participant.

I enjoy my dreams - the weird ones, scary ones, happy ones, fast paced, slow, dark, light, symbolic, nonsense, wacky dreams. I'm sure you all do, too. That's why we're here!

My goal in being on this forum is to keep lucid dreaming on the front of my daytime consciousness, because what you do during the day gets processed at night while you dream, right? So if I think about lucid dreaming, I'll remember it, and my brain will process it at night while I sleep, and maybe during that time I'll consciously remember it and it'll leak into my dreams and I'll become lucid.
      That's the plan anyways...

      A little bit about myself:
      25 years old
      part time student
employeed full time as a manger at a ski resort in Colorado
      oldest of 6
      have a cat named O'Malley
      like candles and perfume
dislike Chef Boyardee and hearing people eat
listen to mostly electronic music (IDM, dubstep, ambient, etc)
      originally from Texas
      don't have an accent
have long, natural fingernails and freckles on my face
      like to dream

Hi Lotus and welcome to DV! Dreaming in general is indeed awesome, and if I can't get lucid every night, I'm happy with the crazy adventures which dreams provide

If you haven't checked the Wiki out, then I suggest you do: Wiki - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource Alot of nice information and tutorials on how to get started.

You are right about the things we do while awake, gets processed during night. This is called "Daily Residue". Dreams are built on more than just that though, it can be random thoughts, memories or emotions. But Realitychecking during the day is supposed to make our "Daily Residue" bring some of that into the dreams, which makes us turn lucid.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or send me or any of the other Dream Guides a PM. Keep on dreaming!
