Random Questions and a Face Palm inducing story

Hi my names Adam I'm new to self induced lucid dreams today is my fourth night trying the WILD technique. So far I've found invariably that after i wake up 5 hours into my sleep i will always dream(and remember my dreams) during those REM periods is this good? Last night i got really close to falling asleep semi consciously but after like an hour and a half of laying in the same position i gave into temptation and rolled to my other side and after that i was to awake to try again does anyone have any tips for clearing my mind and falling asleep without relaxing so much that i go out completely? and one more question right now I'm to the point where i have dreams 100% of the time every single night that i remember but i can't seem to wake up during them this is where i really need help in. its especially hard for me because i don't see my body in my dreams.

And now my face palm inducing story ;p
I was so mad at myself this morning i had like 8+ dreams but i kept ruining them ;p see what happens is i would be laying there then I'd drift off to sleep but i wouldn't know it i would think i was still awake so I'd change positions and wake up. i was dreaming that i was in my construction class but somehow i still thought i was awake ;o this happened at least 6 times this morning.

      1) Well, you're dreaming, that's good, it would be strange if you didn't and you were here... I think you should take advantage of the 5 hour waking and use it for dreaming purposes. When you wake up you can immediately try to go back to sleep while staying conscious, and before you know it you're in a lucid dream! You can also try to set an alarm for the time that you wake up to help remind you to try to enter a lucid dream.

      2) Just try to keep your mind clear and sit there... try to keep your mind clear at all times yet stay conscious. It will give you something to do and eliminate a lot of activity in your brain. Don't forget that the more activity there is in your brain, the harder it is to fall asleep! Not easy to give tips on that, but go ahead and try it.

      3) Could you word that a bit differently? I don't quite understand what you're asking.

Welcome to DV, and I hope I helped!

      Hello and welcome.

I don't recommend WILD to people who are just starting out. DILD and MILD are best. Then i say go to DEILD and eventually WILD. This order doesnt have to be followed or completed because you can just use MILD or DILD your entire time.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
