      hello ans progress so far

      hello all
new to lucid dreaming but looking forward to going lucid
have been keeping my dream journal for about 3 weeks
and doing my RCs have went from remembering a snippet of a dream once a month to
having 1-3 vivid non lucid dreams a night ;]
bee practisising M.I.L.D before bed usually waking at 6 am and then having a go at
      W.B.T.B or D.E.I.L.D
feel as though im getting close but cant seem to do the transistion to lucid
i can get to H.I and S.P quickly but they seem to come in waves building to something but then it levels off while im waiting for a dream to form /wake up in a dream
ill go back to my breathing and mantra ,it builds again and levels again after 3 of these i generally give up and wake up ;[
[or my wife aka the dream police lol will move in bed spoiling my attempt]
the closest ive been to lucidity is during a dream where i got hit on the head by a metal hook from a crane i had my eyes closed rubbing my head in my dream when i automatically did the nose plug and realisied i was dreaming but i had my eyes shut in the dream ,there was bright lights at the bottom of my eyelids .i prepared myself for the dreamworld when i opened them ,and yes back to reality i went when i did lol
any advice for a new but keen member thx and respect ;]

Hi! From what I can tell, it seems you're trying to WILD. Keep it up! You'll make it anytime soon and after that it will only get easier. If you feel like WILD puts too much pressure on you, then I suggest you just relax and do your mantras before you fall asleep, but let yourself fall asleep. Once you have your first lucid, they will start coming.

Do you daydream any? Imagine what you would do if you do become lucid. Do you have a goal set up? Looking forward to completing that goal works as a great motivator.

You are on your way, just keep up the DJ and think alot about LD'ing and you will do fine. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them here or send me or any of the other Dream Guides a PM.

      Keep on dreaming!

Welcome to Dream Views. I struggle a lot when I'm trying not to wake up in a/an LD. What you could have done when the crane hit you that really works ( for me and a lot of people at dreamviews) is staring at your hands. Look at your hands and take in every detail. Focus on nothing but your hands. Your dream should become more vivid and you should be in control. Usually I do this whenever I feel that I am starting to wake up in my dream. Every time I have tried it it hasn't failed. With this method, you can spend a LOT of time in dreams, it's really fun.

      thx for the reply ;]
i guess im trying to wild maybe not the best first step but its worth the practise
im going to slightly change my mantra tonight at bedtime to
      i will realise im dreaming
keeping my goals simple to start i feel fully prepepared for when i become lucid thx to reading these forums
yup the hands will be first step when i finally realise im dreaming
when i did the nose plug it wasnt a conscious desicion but more because of my reality checking throughout the day
guess i was unlucky my eyes where closed in the dream at the time lol
      feeling confident still
      respect ;]
      i am a bit of a daydreamer

That's great progress! Why don't you write it all down in your DJ? Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource - urbanmilitia - Dream Journals People can see and comment on your progress and you'll have a place that will stay where it is. Writing there is a great way to keep track, and make you motivated. I love to read about old dreams I've had and remember the feelings.

Anyways like I said, great progress! Seems like you became lucid but woke up instantly. It will get better with time man. Keep it up!
