      Hey... in need of pointers

Hey I heard about Lucid dreams on a forum I regularly use in the "Off Topic"
I was captivated by the idea of being much more aware in my dreams than I normally am.
Normally, I dont remember my dreams or I forget them within the hour, which I hear is normal, but what alot of the people who have lucid dreams here experience, I generally have no controll over my dreams, maybe because the way I sleep is curled up on my left side, whereas I hear is better to lie on your back.
So I read through the tutorial on how to have lucid dreams, to practice remembering them every morning. But thats not the problem, getting to sleep is.

You see when I lie on my back with my arms either side of me for awhile, I dont know why but I feel really vunerable which is odd, but I gave it a go last night and got totally creeped out when I heard a really strange noise, but I hear that its normal to hear these noises. So Im gonna give it a go today, lie on my back, ignore the noises, wait for my body to go numb then open my eyes is what I was told to do. Also when trying to sleep I tell my self remember the dream, so its not a waste of time.

Am I doing this right, ive only had one dream (not too sure if it was lucid) where I got really excited once I had realised that I was in the dream, and woke up.

      Regards
      Sean

Hi Sean. I am not sure you want to open your eyes when your body goes numb - just keep waiting. I think you might be in for quite a ride if you already feel vulnerable just lying on your back.

You could try taking a nap on your back on a couch, maybe in your lounge, and see if you feel any better there. And I bet if you keep at it a few more times you will get over any creepiness.

You don't have to lie on your back to do a WILD. Choose the position you're most comfortable in. I always lucid dream on either my side or on my stomach. If you haven't, I suggest you read some tutorials in the Wiki: Wiki - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource

I personally haven't done much WILD as I get too excited. I rely on the MILD and DILD techniques to get lucid.

Good luck! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them here or PM me or any of the other Dream Guides.

      Keep on dreaming!
