      Cool The New Guy =)

      Hello Guys,

My name is Antonio, 22 years old. Just joined this forum after reading it for a bit. I seriously can't even believe there are "HOW TOs" for controlling your dreams
Ever since I saw the movie "Inception", i've been interested in this but more after I download the Inception App for my itouch.

So now I'm really trying to control my dreams. I've always wanted to do that.
Hope you guys can help me and hope you all are successfully lucid dreaming soon.

Hey there Dmos! Welcome to DV! I suggest you look into the tutorials on the forum first (maybe read up on the DILD and MILD also read about reality checks). I also suggest you perform reality checks in real life whenever you feel you may be in a dream, also you should start keeping record of your dreams in a dream journal, it helps you find dream signs (reoccurring things in dreams that help you realize you are dreaming) and gives you more of a chance at becoming lucid! if you have any questions feel free to post on the forum, ask me, or ask and admin, moderator, or dream guide. Good Luck!

      Thanks for the reply
Yeah for the past two days ive been trying to understand as much as possible about this and i have been doing the reality checks too.
Problem with me is that i rarely ever remember my dreams not even as soon as i wake up =/
but I'm definitely going to give it a shot.

No problem I'm here to help! Also if you're having trouble with remembering dreams when waking up I suggest you dont move when you intially wake up and immidiately question yourself if you were dreaming, if that doesn't work ask yourself how you felt when you woke up to try to remember bits and pieces of the dream. It worked for me twice this week already! good to know, just keep motivated and success will soon follow.

There are people who have been lucid dreaming for years and have great control. I think they are able to have a dream about what they'd like, but it usually doesn't go exactly how they'd like. For dream recall, start a dream journal. I have a note book right next to my pillow, and when I wake up in the middle of the night, I write down short notes to remind myself of the dream later one. Since I can't always write down the dream in the morning. Think of this as a skill. With more practice and effort, you get better in time. Good luck! Oh and

      Thanks Kush!

One thing i forgot to ask is that I have problems sleeping. I wake up plenty of times during the night and its always very hard for me to fall asleep.
Just a few weeks ago i was awake for almost 4 days straight. Sooner or later i do fall asleep though. I hope this doesn't affect anything and i can still have a lucid dream?

Hmm depends, it's best when you feel most tired, try maybe doing something an hour so beforehand to tire you down, like a quick jog or workout that may get you to be a little tired, also what time do you wake up at night (it may actually help you dream)? yes you still have a good opportunity to have a lucid dream

If you can't remember your dreams write something in your DJ

Even if it's just how you felt when you wake up or when you woke up to go to the bathroom. Wrote down anything!!

I was going to suggest doing MILDs and DILDs together, but since it seems you have a sleeping problem, WILDs might work better for you. Remember not to just passively do reality checks though, like checking the time twice and going on. Look around and question your surroundings and think what it'd be like if it were a dream.

Take heart, Dmos! If you were close then you can be close to it again, and maybe this time get even further. Practice practice... that's what they tell me, anyway
I'm new too, welcome to DV!

Yeah, lucid dreaming when high is very difficult. I've done it, but then again, I've been LDing for years. For the best chance of LDing, quit for a while. I tend to have insanely vivid dreams for the week after I run out, and that can create some pretty cool lucid dreams. First check out the DILD, Reality Check, and Dream Signs tutorials.
