So Close To Achieving a W.I.L.D!! Please help?

Alright, I get sooo close to achieving a Wake induced lucid dream. I'll tell you the whole story and you guys can decide for yourself.

I started laying in bed listening to the album American Beauty by Grateful Dead (slow rock like the songs in this album relax me a lot). Anyway I was just listening and taking slow breathes and relaxing my body. The first thing I started to notice was I felt like I was shifting consciousness. I don't really know how to describe it but I felt less connected to the outside world (I could tell I was there) and felt more connected in my mind. The song "Ripple" started playing I listened to the words but I didn't think about them I kinda let them drift pass me. I started seeing different colors and shades of grey in my head, I guess you would consider it hypnogogic stage or whatever. At first I didn't focus on the colors but I started too and the more I focused the deeper I got. Not soon after that I felt like my vision had widened like I had peripheral vision but my eyes were closed. I felt my eyes slowly opening and had a urge to open them but I kept them shut. My eyes seemed to get wider and the most I noticed it that deeper I got. I started seeing like this circle light in my head and I would focus on the middle of it. This is when it all happened, I remained focused on the light and I felt the wierdest sensations. My breathing started getting heavier randomly, my heart started to beat and I felt paralyzed to my bed, like I couldn't move any muscle or anything. I felt like super light as in I didn't weight anything at all. I kinda felt like I was lifting up or something. All of a sudden I saw myself lying my bed in my vision, it was very strange and creepy. I looked out myself and then it went black and the sensations died down slowly. I was left with wtf just happened feeling. IDK what this was I thought it was a W.I.L.D, but I could be wrong...that why I'm asking you.

      Thanks

      WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!

First of all you should always reality after an attempt at wilding, because many times you are in fact in a dream and have a chance to become lucid. Secondly.. the heaviness on the chest feeling, like getting harder to breath is completely natural in this process.. Floating is also quite normal.. It sounds like you may have been in dream state but mistaken that you were still in a physical state at the end. Did you reality check after it was all over?

No I didn't this experience has happened to me a few times...I never did reality checks. I was thinking lately maybe I did have a LD...but I cant be sure. Tonight, I will try again and if I get it successfully I will check for reality or whatever. Also do you use music or did you ever use any type of music to help lucid dream because sometimes that helps me but I dont listen to any brainwave stuff just regular music.

Yeah this is experience happened a little while ago...but last night I listened to this 20 minutes binaural beat thing before going to bed. Upon going to bed I kept telling myself to write down my dream right when I woke up. But I feel asleep but I awoke in the middle night (which is strange cuz i never do that) but it was wierd because all I did was open my eyes think about my dream and realize I had no paper then go back to sleep. But in the morning I remembered myself waking up, but I started to forgetting what happened...like a dream. And the more i think about it was really odd. Like I know it happened but I can't put it together. I think I might of had a false awakening because thats what was on my mind when I fell asleep. I know next time that happens to preform a reality check!

It always helps to have a journal next to the bed for quick write downs in the middle of the night lol
