      lucid dreaming while high

hey guys, new to the forum and new to lucid dreaming. well i recently took a break from toking and the third night into the break i had an awesome lucid dream (because i could never remember my dreams when i toked before bed). soo it all started when i looked at a clock and it was 11 50 and glanced back at it and it was like 10 45 or something, then poked my hands and looked in the mirror, then had lots of sex and flew a bit. i'd say it was better than smoking weed, but i would still like to. So my question is can anyone lucid dream while high? or when should i last smoke before going to bed to possibly have another awesome experience?

Here's a post I made in another thread:

There is a right way and a wrong way to use cannabis.

If you are smoking up until bedtime (you're still stoned or high when you lay down), this is no good. There is a definite cut-off time that you shouldn't smoke after if you want to enhance dream vividness/recall. This time is usually about ~3 hours before you go to bed. For example, my usual bedtime is 10pm. I make sure I don't smoke any cannabis past 7pm (or I take my last hit at 7pm). I am a very light smoker (only around ~3 hits daily, all vaporized).

Smoking past this cut-off time can have negative consequences on sleep. Other peoples' cut-off times may be different, though. It just takes self-control to make yourself stop smoking at a certain time every day.

Also, simply smoking too much cannabis throughout the day (quantity problem) is a common error. Keep your tolerance as low as possible. When I vaporize a single, tiny hit (<.05g), I get as high as I want to be. People always act like having low tolerance means you're "noob," but in my opinion it takes a seasoned veteran to perfect the art of keeping a low tolerance while continuing to smoke daily. This maximizes the potential of your stash, saves a lot of money, and is also healthier for your body/mind. Also, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think you can also have problems when you smoke low-grade cannabis (quality problem).
To everyone saying "you must quit marijuana to improve LD:" I have to disagree. A more correct statement, in my opinion, would be "you must correct any bad cannabis smoking habits (such as quantity problem, quality problem, or cut-off time problem) which are causing you to have poor dream recall and other sleep-related problems." When used correctly and strategically (just like any other LD supplement), I believe cannabis can be a useful tool.

Smoking bowls/joints/blunts throughout the course of your day is certainly bad for dreaming. A good goal would be to not take more than 1 hit per ~4 hours. After attaining that goal, a new goal could be to reduce the size of hits taken until your tolerance has been sufficiently lowered. This is all coming from personal experience and observing others. I still have loads of fun smoking cannabis (mainly because I don't overuse it), but I do it intelligently so that it enhances my life instead of hindering it.

Personally, after improving my "smoking strategies," I have had increased recall/vividness. In fact I have better recall/vividness now than I ever did sober. I can't say this will work for everyone though; this is just me sharing my personal testimonial.

i smoked weed daily and alot each day ..by alot i mean about 4grams , and i would rarely have a lucid dream or even remeber a dream .

anyway i have stopped smoking and today is the 14th day of no weed .. was hard at first night sweats and bad nightmares

but my recall has gone up to rembering about 3dreams per night ! much better than the rare couple each week while i was blazing

if you want many many more dreams just quit

not just for the dreaming but for your health if you smoke alot you get so used to feeling stoned all the time , once u stop everything is just clearer

aslo while i was toking my emotions were all over the place aswell

trust me stop while you can because it dont help you in any part of yourlife

unless ofc you smoke due to a chronic illness or disease.. in that case forget what i said

Yeah I would say that smoking weed is not good for dreaming in general.
I smoke often and that has shown in my dreams.

What do you mean by 'it has shown in my Dreams,' ?

I can't really say weed helps at all. Any sort of psychoactive drug will negatively affect your dreaming ability. However, this is highly controversial. My reason for saying smoking won't help is that mj really hurts your short term memory, a key factor in dream recall. This is about the extent of my knowledge, I'll look into it and find out more.
