Had many lucid dreams...then lost it.

      Hi!
      So here's the deal:
Since I was about 14 (now 25) I got very interested on the dream realm and started reading about it and techniques for lucid dreaming. I can’t remember of having any lucid dreams back then, but I did kept a dream journal for about a year.
I started spontaneously lucid dreaming about six years ago, having about 1 lucid dream per year. Always liked it, never put much attention to continue doing it though.
Then, last summer I suddenly started having more lucid dreams...very short ones and I could barely remember them.
A couple of months later I had like a two-month lucid dreaming phase, in which I had probably 30 lucid dreams, VERY VIVID ones, in which I would remember to spin around, look at my hands, talk to the characters, refrain from flying to try other stuff... lots of consciousness! (I was trying to lucid dream then, but without using a specific technique, only by having a dream journal).
And then...I don't know what happened, I can barely remember my dreams sometimes, can't keep up with my journal anymore for this reason... and I've had like 5 or 6 lucid dreams in the past four months, but nothing compared to where I was before.I can’t think of any abrupt changes in my life that could have caused this.
Any ideas on what could be happening… or recommendations?

      Thanks!!!!!!!!

Welcome to DreamViews It sounds like your having a Lucid-Dream dry-spell. There are a few was to fix this though. Next time you fall asleep set an alarm to wake you up after each of your REM phases. It should be alot easier to remember your dreams since you will be waking up just a few minutes after the dream ended. If that doesn't help you should check out the tutorial about Dream Recall which can be found here
      Dream Recall Tutorial
. I hope I helped and good luck.

I agree, sounds like a dry-spell. This is usually done by taking a break or just waiting it out.

      Hi!
Thnx for your advice! So after posting this thread last night, I started reading on lucid dreaming techinques and found out I'm sort of a natural WILDer (although sometimes a gain consciousness in the middle of a dream, but just naturally, without doing reality checks or looking for clues). So last night I decided I was going to try to WILD during the night. And it turns out I did wake up (withouth alarm clock) several times and tryied WILDing but I guess I was too asleep as I always ended up submerged in the dream realm again, I do remember 2 dreams though. So I guess I'll continue practicing this and let you know the results later!
Still any extra recommendations are welcome!

PS. Reading the dream recall tutorial, I now realize maybe high levels of stress during the last months where affecting my dream recall! Interesting...

Your timing has a lot to do with it, also. If you wake directly from a dream, it is easy to remember. If your sleeping habits have shifted so that you wake from a different stage of sleep, it can be difficult to remember dreams. Try to pin down the timing of your last dream of the night, so you can wake directly from it. Alternately, you can just train yourself to wake after every dream throughout the night. It sounds like you are able to do this, already.

I think my sleeping habits have remained the same, but I just realized that I'd been taking lots of vitamin B (for my muscles and energy level) in those months and I'm taking it again, so that's probably why my DR is coming back. I can remember 3 dreams from last night...I think lucidity will come back soon too

I know the other guys just gave you some advice, but are you sleeping enough? I remember reading that somewhere.
