      I'm new to the forum

      Hey,
I just started to learn how to LD, and i just found this forum . I used to have LDs when i was like 5 all the time. Im nearly 15 now, and i didn't had a LD for like 9-10 years now, so i wanted to learn it again. I'm now doing around 10-20 RCs each day and i keep a dream journal. It's pretty hard to recall my dreams though, i've been doing this for 2 days now, and i only have a small part of one of my dreams. Do you guys have any tips on dream recalling and/or on how to get lucid?

      Thanks

      EDIT:
Most of the time i sleep from 0:30 - 7:00 and wake up at 6:00 most of the time, but i just go back to sleep then, would it increase my chance to LD if i sleep more?

Welcome to DreamViews! It will take some practice to build up your recall. Make sure that when you are performing RCs during the day, that you aren't just going through the motions. Take a few moments to observe your surroundings. Think to yourself, "Am I dreaming right now?" Look at the detail around you and take in your environment. Then perform RCs to see if you really are dreaming.

Continue with the dream journal and your dreams will come around. Upon going to sleep, be confident that you will remember your dreams tonight. Fall asleep knowing that you will remember your dreams. If you want to enhance your chances with recall, you can set alarms throughout the night. It is easier to remember a dream is you wake up soon after it was over. Usually the REM period starts after about 4 hours of sleep (sometimes more...and sometimes less). Then you can set another alarm for an hour or two after that one. Wake up, and write your dreams down immediately. Also, keep a notebook/laptop/etc at your bedside so you can immediately write your dream down upon waking up. Do this when you wake in the morning as well. If you can't set alarms for one reason or the other...you can drink a good amount of liquids before bed, that way you will wake up in the night to use the bathroom.

Your amount of sleep is fine. When you wake up and return to sleep, fall back to sleep thinking, "I'm about to have and remember a dream." Just keep consciously making a mental note to remember your dreams and your recall will begin to improve. Keep practicing and good luck to you. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!

lol I think he means rcs. I only have one thing to add to his post. A trick i learned is that when you wake up dont open your eyes and lay still it's easier to remember dreams. Atleast that works for me.This will usually help me remember atleast one more dream.

About the RCs when i do when, i allways look around to see if anything looks weird, and i say something like: "If i can breathe with my nose plugged, i am dreaming, and if i am, i'll be lucid.".
Would it help if i say something like that?
Yeah, exactly. Look around and truly question your environment. That way, you will do the same in your lucids.

Oops, lol. Yeah, I definitely meant RCs.

Refrain is right. Once you wake up, it is a good idea to not move too much and recap the dream in your mind. Once you have went over it, quickly write it down and your all set. A lot of times you will remember bits and pieces of your dream throughout the day as well.
