Since learning of the irrefutable existence of lucid dreaming about a week ago I have set my mind on discovering for myself this phenomena. I've never really been one to embrace the spiritual side of life but this topic has really caught my attention.

My question is regarding the whole concept of 'dreaming'. Since I started a dream journal I have managed to record 3 dreams in 4 nights (quite impressive for me, seeing as how I rarely even believed I knew how to dream). However, while reading through Stephen LaBerges' book, I have become a tad confused about the idea of MILD induction.

To grasp the ability to awake oneself in a dream, one must be capable of reasoning with or thinking about the dream as it unfolds. I, however get the feeling that all my dreams consist of is random, fast paced situations unfolding before me, where it seems I can't even attempt to enforce my conscience upon the setting. Is there something I am missing about the whole dream world, or is it perhaps my general rustiness and lack of practice with my spiritual side?

I just want to be fairly sure that given more effort and time there is a possibility that lucid dreaming is an achievable target for myself. Thanks guys.
