      Hello!

Hey guys, whats up? I've been looking around at this forum for a couple of days, and I'm very eager to try lucid dreaming. I don't usually remember my dreams, but after telling myself I would 2 nights ago, I remembered it. I'm gonna work on remembering my dreams, but I really wanna start having LD's! ANY tips would be a big help. my friend is also trying this, but he's not on this forum. and I had a question; how can we BE in the dream, when we are first learning only to remember it?

Hi and welcome! Recall is the number one thing you need to focus on. What's the point of having lucids when you can't remember them? Just keep on writing in your DJ every morning, and if you wake up during the night you should write down any fragments or dreams you can recall. Try lying completely still when you wake up and let the dreams come to you. "Probe" around abit if you can't recall anything. Hold on to any fragment of any sensation you get, and try to find out what the dream might have been about.

Have LD'ing in the back of your head, but for now let it be a motivator to get your recall up. Set up a goal and tell yourself you will do this! It does take time to learn how to LD, but it's worth it! I'm not sure what you mean by your question. But everyone dreams every single night, it's just a matter of recalling those dreams.

If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and keep on dreaming!

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Do you find it distracting to try and remember everything you are doing while you are lucid? Does it distract you from the dream? Remembering the dream is mostly dependent on what you do for the first few seconds after waking. Just enjoy the dream while you are in it, and trust that you will remember to record it when you wake up.

thanks guys. you all seem to be a little confused with my question, so I'll try and clarify. I find it hard thinking that I'll be able to be... awake, or conscious as it were, in the dream. also, I was really wondering about lengthening it. I heard about altering your time perception, and was wondering; have you guys done that?!

Ah, don't worry. You're just not used to being in first person in a dream, and I guess it's because you're not used to dreaming alot. When you learn how to control your dreams, a lucid can be just as real as waking life. And yes it is possible to make the lucid last longer. You do this by activating your senses in the dream. Although time dilation is some heavier stuff, and I myself haven't even tried it yet. The more experienced lucid dreamers seems to be able to dilate time up to a few hours though.

Lucid dreaming is 100% real. Almost everyone can do it, and with a little bit of dedication and discipline, you can too . Try the different techniques out in a casual way. Get used to RC'ing during the day, but don't expect too much, like I said, focus on recall first.

      Hello lucasfilmer,

I'm new here as well. Has your question been answered? If not, I can tell you this - when you become conscious in a dream for the first time, it is shocking. There will be no doubt that it is happening and that it is real.

Now I have a question for you. What's the story with your username? Do you work for Lucas Films?
