Hello, and a few quick questions.

Hello everyone, I'm Mattfly and recently I've been interested in lucid dreaming and dreams in general. So far I've had one lucid dream (which you can find in my dream journal) and as soon as I became lucid I also gained control of myself. I read in some other topics that you can become lucid but but not gain control as soon as you do,or not gain control throughout the whole dream, how does this work? Also I need a few tips for dream remembrance, do you guys have any good ones? A few nights ago I had bits of four dreams that I remembered and after them I had a dream where a dc was telling me about the 4 dreams I just had but I only got a few bits of what he said(Maybe my dream guide?), is this normal?

      Hello and welcome to DV!

Well, sometimes we can become lucid and have no control whatsover. Like - you're standing in a room, you know you're lucid and you want to walk to a door but your feet are stuck to the ground and you can't move them at all. So instead of trying to walk, you might learn to gain control by floating, drifting, or moving where you are trying to go to you.

As far as dream remembrance goes - keep up on that dream journal! That's by far the best way to remember your dreams And nothing is ever normal in dreams, just roll with it

      Welcome to dreamviews!

To answer your first question, I'll quote the wiki definition of lucid dreaming, "A Lucid Dream is a dream in which one is aware of the fact that it is a dream. This awareness gives you consciousness, which then allows you to take control over the dream and do anything you want, although control is not a necessary part of lucid dreaming.
" For the question on remembering dreams, as soon as you wake up, don't open your eyes and lie completely still and think about your dreams, think of the details, replay them in your head if you can. I'm not too sure about the last question, sorry.

Thanks for the answers, I'll try to do those to help me remember my dreams.(just made an entry to my dream journal) I hope someone will be able to answer my 3rd question though, I thought it was pretty weird.

Hey man, welcome. I'm new here as well... and while I don't exactly have an answer to your third question, I definitely plan on keeping track of this thread in case someone else does. That just sounds really interesting to me! I've never had a DC reference another dream to me before.. although just last night one did actually suggest to me that I might be dreaming, which looking back on it now seemed pretty strange as well. Maybe these experiences are connected somehow if (like you mentioned) maybe they were our Dream Guides? Very interesting.

One of the first things you need to do is keep a dream journal. This will help your dream recall by... A lot.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

I don't know about this, but the last dream i had, it reminded me of another dream place i had visited, like i knew i had seen this place before but, in a total different dream with another "character". so i kept looking for things that i've seen from before and then i realized it was the exact place. dose that happen alot when you LD and dont have much of a stabilization control.
