      Near Sleep Paralysis?

I think I might have gotten close, it did feel weird.
I was just zoning out thinking about stuff, I honestly can't even remember... but then all of a sudden I felt a electricity shock through my back and my heart started beating like severely, it felt like the whole bed was shaking because of how hard I was beating. I am still kind of jittery still... sadly the binural music I was listening to stopped and then I was maybe.. alerted, I still tried to continue but it seemed it may have stopped.

Also another question, can I gulp while attempting to go into sleep paralysis? Like swallow because of the.. not sure but can I or will it alert my brain that I am conscious or whatever?

      Thanks, headache.. lol

I believe it stopped because I swallowed or whatever you want to call it

Wow that sounds pretty intense, haha. I usually don't swallow when I'm trying to WILD, I just let myself drool. It sounds like you were really close though, sucks that the binaural beat stopped. Did you download a sample of it or something? Have you tried putting it on a loop repeat?

      My phone battery ran out...
I'll try to drool next time, but I was laying on my back though. Another question my brother thinks that this is bad for you, like it will give me a heart attack, seizure, or brain damage. Is this possible or is he just a phobia of psychotic.

It was 45min mp3 called lucid dream binaural, not sure which brain wave it was but it kept me conscious unlike before.. I was OUT last time I tried. Haha
I would think it would be possibly gamma because it keeps me alert. I did listen to it one night just normally going to sleep, I woke up about... 5 times within 7hrs of rest.

No your body goes into SP every time you sleep, you just don't notice it most of the time because you aren't conscious. As far as the rapidly increasing heart rate you had, maybe you had a panic attack? Everyone has different reactions when going into SP, so I don't really know. I personally feel like a lead blanket is coming over me and I feel all tingly.

I did forget to add on detail, in a way it did feel like I was mildly spinning in my bed.
But I did look at the How to fail a WILD,
Barrier No.2: Talking to yourself(Inner dialog). - Oops still I got somewhere doing it, yeah I do get scared easy but its so interesting... lol

Yeah, you can gulp if you have to. Just try not to pay attention to it, even acknowledge that you are swallowing. Just go ahead and swallow and then act like you never did it. Fighting the urge to swallow is worse/,ore distracting than just going ahead and doing it. Just don't even think/worry about it. You could do the drool thing, but it may get messy/sticky, lol.

No, that increased heart rate is a hallucination. Your heart rate actually slows down in preparation for sleep. Its not really beating like that. It is very common when WILDing (especially when you are first starting). Just try to ignore it and stay calm and relaxed. The intense beating will soon stop. This goes for any unpleasant hallucinations you get. Just simply ignore them and act like nothing is happening. You will be fine, like Raph said, it is a natural process that your body goes through every night.

Oh wow that's pretty cool. SP is like a really bad acid trip, haha.

Cool, so I did have a hallucination. Wow.. just feels so real. I thought I might really have a heart attack, it did kind of give it somewhat away when the bed was shaking from my intense heart beat. haha
One question.. I do not understand the transition, do I just go with the flow or do something a certain way?

Thanks for all the help guys, maybe I'll give another attempt tomorrow. (Also when I fully woke up I was kinda dizzy in a way, maybe because I was fake spinning or whatever.)
I didn't see any images or like visions, or is that later in the process of transition?

It wasn't really that scary, what I really didn't want to see was like an evil creature or something.. Which still, is expected for the next attempt. I did try to stay calm, I told myself everything I see and feel is just a figment of my imagination. Did help somewhat
I do have a problem with visualization, I visualize better with my eyes open and its not good at all. When I was near SP or had it somewhat I did see images, but only for a split second.

Yeah I did try to fight it, I do have to fight the itchiness correct? I usually just think deep, I usually think deep a lot... I can keep thinking and thinking until I either have a headache or dead
Seems to help with the itchiness, although sometimes it is too bad so I say screw it and retry SP.

In response to your comment about your family thinking this is weird/odd or bad for you. It definitely is not. Like Raphael said, SP is entered into by the natural process of your brain. Electrical impulses are how the brain functions so the differences you experience in your body is your body going into SP while you are conscious...that is all.

As far as having a WILD dream EVERY NIGHT that would be addictive so it would not be recommended. Anything for your body can be bad if not used in moderation, even potato chips.

With that being said. Just let your body do its thing and try a WILD dream once or twice /month if its scary for you.

      Sincerely,
      ~Icy

Yeah, I don't want to get addicted to LD even though I haven't yet experienced it yet.

My dad said, why not live in your dreams if you can do or have anything you want. I do put that in a view, I want to still live in reality but this just seems weird... I don't know.

Not all lucid dreams are useful but they all have a sense of wonder about them. If you must sleep through a third of your life, why should you sleep through your dreams, too?

Yeah, that is one of my points. Beside this would give me a reason to go to sleep more often. I usually get like 5hrs of rest every night, so its best doing this because it probably exercises my brain during sleep and will give me entertainment and rest!

Oh, on hearing sounds during SP.. could it be a simple beeping sound?
I think this was a fake beeping sound, could have been my cell phone in reality though. Although when I was out of it, there was no beeping.

I've heard beeping before too, so for you it might have been a hallucination.

Where the crazy actual moving objects? Or is that for some people, I'm glad it might not work for me... not really in the mood to see zombies haha.

Is there actual visual hallucinations? Or just feeling and hearing?

The visual hallucinations come in the form of hypnotic imagery. It's job is basically to lull you to sleep, you need to stay focused and conscious at this part; otherwise you'll just fall asleep normally and won't become lucid. Read through the WILD tutorial on this site, it explains the whole process better than I can.
