Does the school of obe book work ?

I'm asking this because I'm trying the indirect techniques, and have only had little success with them. I'm interested in OBEs/Lucid Dreams and want to know how long it took for these techniques to work for whoever read it. I haven't read the whole book but I think the techniques are good. When I get money I think I'm going to buy some of his DVD's to support him.

I'm not sure if it was the actual techniques that worked for me, but after I was immersed in the book for about a week to two weeks straight, I was having no luck, so I stopped altogether. Meanwhile, I had increased my reality checks and dream journal entries dramatically and still continued to. This in turn produced two random lucids that were 3 days apart for me.... was it from the book? of was it from my increase on dream recall and reality checks?

I don't know, but I think that any exposure to LDing, and getting your mind to think and use those pathways is helpful, but I also think it can be helpful to take a break.... especially as beginners

      Check this thread: Instant WILD

I personally was successful today - first time, so I also cannot be sure it was because this particular book, but because I woke up in the morning with intention to conduct indirect techniques and I rolled out of my body - I feel that there is a possibility that it was due that book.
I hope I will be able to confirm it soon.

      That's awesome! Good for you!!

I now have a mentor who suggested I read Stephen Laberge's book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming... and so I went out and picked it up for 8 bucks yesterday and have not put it down since! It is turning my way of thinking about LDing and dreaming in general to a whole new constant level. I have not been able to test what I have learned from it yet, and I may be a bit overwhelmed, but I can just feel that this is going to be a very priceless tool for me.

I'm only on page 69 and I would already recommend this book to any and everyone!

I checked out that book at my library and it didn't work for me.

Well, I'm learning that its definitely not a book you can just read straight through and be done with. You actually have to stop reading when there are exercises to do and practice them for a bit. Maybe even for weeks at a time before moving on in the book. Practice makes perfect and without practice you are only cheating yourself on an increase of potential chances to become lucid.

The EWLD was one of the first books I read about LD - if not the very first one. Very nice.

But then I found one book which showed me deeper sides of LD more clearly - Robert Waggoner's Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self This book is so deep that you cannot see the bottom.
      I highly recommend this book.
I also translated it to my language and now search for a publisher. It moved me so much.

I was reading about this one online and saw that it had good rec's... so I plan to order it since my bookstore was out of it.
