      Introduction of a Lucid Newbie.

      Hello everybody!
I thought I would introduce myself after lurking around on this site for a few weeks.
I am a 22 year old girl from Norway and I am fairly new to Lucid dreaming. I have had one Lucid dream but that was many years ago.
In that dream, I was in egypt, and suddenly realized that I was dreaming. I found the situation to be frustrating and I just wanted to wake up. (I thought I was caught in this weird world) And it ended with me thowing myself in a pit of quicksand, wich wake me up.

Since then, I have never had any lucis dreams that I know of.
But now I have discovered it for what it is, and I find it very interesting! I started writing a dream journal immediately after reading about the topic. I had an advantage in having fairly good dream recall before I started with this, so now, just two weeks after starting, I already remember 3-4 dreams each night.

I each day 3-4 times stop and take out a note from my pocket wich says "Am I Dreaming?". I then focus on becoming aware on myself and my suroundings. Doing reality checks and giving myself at least 3 good reasons on why I'm not dreaming before I put it back.

I think this is good preparatins for being able to become lucid. Do you have inputs?

I have tried different techniques to become lucid. Both WILD and MILD, but I still have not achieved a lucid dream. I guess I just have to continue with my drem journal, do reality checks and try the techniques every night untill i finally get it.

Finally: I love this site! So much information and so many people willing to help others with lucid dreaming. It's great!

Hi and welcome to DV! You're right on track. Try to up the Reality Checking amount to around 20 a day if you can and if you haven't, try out the WBTB technique. How long it takes to get that first one from trying depends on you as a person. How much you try and how lucky you are. Just keep believing in yourself and you'll get lucid soon!

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Keep on dreaming!

Okay, I will do Reality checks more often! But one thing I get confused about, is that I think MILD and WBTB seems so similar?
It seems to me that both techniques is about repeating a mantra in my head and let the intesion of having a lucid dream be the last thing on my mind before i go back to sleep after waking up.

WBTB is when you wake up after a few hours of sleep and stay up for 20-40 minutes. When you do it, you usually combine it with MILD. WBTB is more of a tool that enhances MILD.
