Post The new guy just wondering bout any tips

alright so i got on this website yesterday and i started my dream journal as of yesterday,
i have a few questions about things that the tutorials dont explain...
(p.s.) i havnt had a lucid dream yet, i assume ill wake up from it when i hae my first, ill be too excited.

anyway so one thing is i dont really understand what patterns im looking for in my drea journal...i am writting down everything that i can remember from the previous night but i dont know what i might be looking for.
also what is the longest one of you guys have sustained ludicity in one sinle dream and what did you do?
Are there any limits to what you can do in the dreams?

i hope i can have one soon and become experianced enough to have one every night

Let me first start off by saying that a dream journal serves as a way to get in the mindset of remembering dreams, it also can help improve your dream clarity. One thing that many people look for, is reoccurring themes. Example: I always see a certain friend in a dream, so when I see them in real life I'll reality check. This will cause you to reality check when you see them in the dream helping you gain lucidity (this is known as a dream sign).

On a side note the longest lucid dream I've ever had was probaby only ten minutes haha. You can do almost ANYTHING in your dreams, the minds the limits
      Lucid Goals

      Short term
convince a dc they're in a dream, get high, go swimming

      Long Term
have a deild, continue a relationship, stop time

Dream journaling is a great idea. After a dozen of dreams, look at your dreams and search for dream signs. Do it for the next ones as well. Some people also don't have dream signs at all. My longest lucid was somewhere 5 mins because I usually get too excited and wake up after a minute or so. If a dream is well stabilised you can do anything you want if you believe in it. Just remember it's not the destination that matters, but the trip. Sweet dreams
