Thumbs up Entering the world of Lucid Dreaming (as of last night)

Hey..I'm Alex... This is totally out of my character to consider things such as lucid dreaming but I decided it's time for me to get to know myself a little better and be more in touch with what my dreams mean. I bought "Lucid Dreaming" By Stephen Laberge at half price books yesterday and got home and immediately read half of it before going to sleep. I can actually recall 3 of the dreams that I had last night pretty vividly! I practiced the exercises that the book recommends all through the night. I wasn't able to catch on to any of the dreamsigns, however when I woke up this morning and started my first entry in my dream journal there were things that were obviously pretty big red flags that I was dreaming. At one point I was either briefly lucid or I was just dreaming that I was lucid. Either way this is soooo intense for me and I can't wait to learn more and have more control over this.. Any suggestions, books, exercises etc would be very much appreciated..

      Sincerely,

      Excited Dreamer

Hi and welcome to DV! All you need is here, check out the Wiki - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource. Great tutorials and tips on how to get Lucid.

Also, you probably dreamt about being lucid because you read that much before bed. Dreams consists partly of "daily residue".

My suggestion is keep the motivation up and get to terms with that this might not work overnight. After your first lucid you will get more and more, but getting a nice flow and consistency can take a while. Don't stress out over it, just keep those butterflies fluttering and you'll be fine

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!

Thanks :-). The motivations is definitely there. Just the fact that i was able to recall 3 dreams last night is a pretty good driving factor!! Can't wait to learn more and hear everyone else's experiences.

      It's amazing isn't it?

Ever since I was introduced to Lucid Dreaming and started my Journal it seems almost as if the brain flipped a switch and everything just turned way clearer!
I've written down 4 dreams so far and I started just 2-3 days ago, one of them is 5 pages long!

Now my biggest problem is the motivation to write it all down, i've already skipped out on some dreams!
