      Lightbulb LD novice, a history

THis is going to be some long bullshit about my history with the LD experience. You totally dont' have to read it. Any tips you got for me i'd love to hear.

I saw the movie waking life in 2000 when it came out and was totally enamored with the idea of Lucid Dreaming but back then I had no real idea how to go about it and was doing so many drugs there was absolutly no dream recall at all. Over time i cut back and back and back until last spring i decided to get into lucid dreaming for real but found that i had no recall and even after a month of trying i couldn't get anything. Then i quit smoking pot and drinking and found that my recall was going much stronger. I read the Stephen Leberge Book and a couple of others and worked on journaling and doing what i needed to do. Then i started getting into making lists of DreamSigns, then i was working on the Wake Back to bed (WB2B). Pretty soon I was LDing up a storm. I got around 15 over the course of two months. Most of these dreams in this period were just moments where i wake up, get lucid and then lose the dream and wake up. Two or three times i was able to maintain my lucidity for more than a couple of minutes.

Eventually i lose my job and a couple of other shit things happen to me and i stop training and go back to drinking and smoking pot. stupid choice, i know. My wife and i have recently moved across the country and in preparation for the move and the upcoming job hunt i quit drinking and smoking again. I figured that if i wasn't going to be doing those things i ought to get my journal back together and start training again (as quitting substances is easier when you have a goal). It's been much harder this time around, But slowly my journaling has gotten better and I've begun to gather that real excitement.

I had a couple of semi lucid experiences while spending the night at my wife's mom's house back at the baginning of the month and another half lucid moment two nights ago. Starting on may first i am going to be keeping a full list of my dream signs and orgainze them like i did last summer. that seemed to help me alot. I do reality checks as much as i can. and i go to bed really early so i can wb2b around 4 or 5 am. Last night i did the wb2b around 2 am and had some amazing lucid dreams so this may be the new style i am going to try again. I read on this site about the pineal gland meditation and used that to great effect.

I keep a dream journal on the Lucidipedia website and have found the work of Tim Post very helpful.

right now i just want to do sex or flying but i have a huge list of things to do when i get better.
      including
      • I want to find my spirit. I want to find the motivation in my life that I have lost.
      • I want to use crazy superpowers fight zombies and monsters and demons
      • I want to travel in space
      • I want to swim underwater and breathe underwater
      • I want to fly
      • I want to meet great figures from history and dream guides.
      • I want the obvious.

Right now though, I want to get better and getting into the lucid state and maintaining that state with ease and comfort.

I wanted to do this for a while
did it a little bit last year
      started again last month.
      getting better.
      excited, having fun.
will hang out here a bit.
