      Novice dreamer

Just joined up, looking to get some solid information to help me with my dream journey! I've started learning lucid dreaming about a month ago..I have a dream journal and have been reading Laberge's book. So far i've become semi aware only a couple times, but couldn't keep myself from waking up!

So already you are becoming more aware in your dreams? That's not bad If you want good solid information, why don't you check out our tutorials?

LaBerges books are highly recommended by our community. That guy actually proved lucid dreaming.

      Welcome to the Forum!

Sounds like excellent progress so far!

But come on, wheres the rest of the details?! What was happening in the dreams each time when you woke up?

well both of them were DILD's. the first one i spotted a friend of mine with the wrong physical appearance (one of those situations where while being nonlucid you recognize a dream character as somebody in particular that you know even if the physical appearance is off) and made the decision that i was dreaming. this lasted maybe a minute until i saw an old pet of mine that has passed away; i began focusing all of my attention on her which caused me to lose lucidity and wake up.

the second time seemingly nothing led me to believe that i was dreaming (or maybe i don't remember the particular dream sign). either way i was standing out in the parking lot of my apartment complex and i suddenly gained lucidity. this lasted for maybe 30 seconds to a minute. i began walking and examining my hands, admiring the detail and thinking to myself "wow i'm surprised one of my hands doesn't look deformed." and low and behold, as soon as the thought crossed my mind, my left hand looked very bizarre. same as the first time things started going gray and i lost lucidity, but remained in the same dream story. ( i may have woken up and then re-entered a REM cycle)

there have been a few times i've done state checks in a dream, however still concluded that i was awake
