Newbie here, intro with a quick question! :)

Hi all, I've only just found this forum and am so happy about it! I've always been interesting in dreaming, since I always remember my dreams and can control them really well. I have a lot of lucid dreams too, they're always very vivid...and sleep paralysis sometimes unfortunately. I think I learned how to control dreams as a child when I used to have a lot of nightmares and knew when a monster was coming and how to get away/hide from them and wake myself up if it got too bad. Now I can sometimes even change nightmares altogether, which is handy! I never look into mirrors when I'm dreaming (just in case), and my favourite thing to do if it's a boring dream is to float around in the air

I have a question concerning WILD's as I've just come across this term. Because sometimes when I'm lying in bed suddenly I'm still concious but have dream like visions that I can't always control. But if I roll over or wake up fully I don't feel tired or like I've been asleep at all. It feels like I've had half a dream or like I've been somewhere else, almost daydreaming but more intense. It's quite a weird feeling. Does that sound like a WILD?

I'm enjoying reading about everyone's experiences and hope I can improve on my dreaming skills!

Welcome to dream views! I learned most of my dream control from nightmares as a kid as well. I like to treat it as a self defense that results in a lot of dead zombies. Your experience does sound a lot like a WILD, but I think they're only considered a WILD if you do fall asleep and into a true dream state. It was just hypnogogic (however it's spelled) imagery or hallucinations, and you probly would have fell asleep/gone into a dream if you didn't disturb yourself.
