Yet Another Newbie With Yet Another Pile Of Questions.

Hey I just joined after some silent lurking. Ive been keeping a dream journal for bout 2 months now and my recall is pretty decent. I was just wondering what method you guys would recommend I try for attaining lucidity? Also, Im quite an avid pot smoker (everyday) and was wondering how much I have to cut down to prevent it from hindering my chances of Lucid Dreams. Thanks!

I like to do DILDs and DEILDs. That's just because I'm a little lazy and find them easier to perform though. As for pot, I'm not sure how much it affects your ability to lucid dream. I'd just take a guess at no pot at all if you want to lucid dream.

I use WBTB method. I think most people do.
Yes, marijuana will kill your dream recall. We had a thread, http://www.dreamviews.com/f44/does-m...estion-114571/, but it turned into a debate, and then an argument, mostly because of sloth.

I would recommend using DILD and DEILD as Oreoboy suggested. If you want to have DILDs more often, it would be a good idea to try out all-day awareness for a bit. KingYoshi wrote a great tutorial on that, and it's helped me in the week that I've been trying it out (I've had 2 DILDs this week ).

      ShockWave.

Edit: Here's the link to Yoshi's tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/all-da...hi-113253-new/

Hello and welcome to DV! Yes, pot can greatly hinder your dream recall.

As for what you should do now? I would go through your dream journal and outline all of the things that occur often in them. These are dream signs. For example, I have lots of dreams by lakes or rivers, so being by bodies of water is one of my dream signs. When I am confronted with one of these dream signs in waking life, I do a reality check. Be sure and check out the reality check tutorial in the DV wiki section. The idea is that you will do them in waking life, and that you will also do them in your dreams, figure out that "oh hey, I'm dreaming," and thus become lucid.

      Good luck

Marijuana kills recall. I've found it almost impossible to consistently smoke and lucid dream. It takes me about 48 hours before my dreams become clear enough to lucid dream. Thats sort of the annoying part of it, there is this sort of 2-3 day period where you can't do either.

Marijuana killed my recall. I stopped smoking altogether last year because I valued my dreams/lucid dreams more. AS for methods, once your dream journal gets fatter you will begin to pick out dream-signs which can act as cues for you. Play with a bunch of methods... try one for a week or two and move on if it doesn't work. Everyone is different - you need to find what works well for you.

Welcome to the forums and lucid dreaming!

I would recommend the WILD technique. Though I only started a few days ago and failed due to a False Awakening.
The reason I recommend this is because it takes very little training and luck, it truly takes effort. If you are completely determined then your chances of having an LD are very good.
That said, you should still work on the DILD technique because that would give you around 3 chances every night with very little effort.

      Anyways, good luck!

Thanks for all the responses and I think I'll do the same as you c0sm0nautt, lucid dreaming seems far more rewarding than smoking weed, will quitting weed give me REM rebound? Thanks for the link cacophony , I was looking for more info on reality checks.
