      Had first lucid dream, Sort of...

      I had a lucid dream last night. I was congested and sick and crap, so I took some Nyquil, which I have know to give me strange dreams. This time, I knew that I was dreaming! It was cool, but I didn't have much control over what was going on, and I found myself forgetting that I was actually dreaming. I was kind of in a fog, kind of like when you take Nyquil during the day. Is this normal. Will I only be able to lucid dream when I'm on Nyquil?

      I've never taken nyquill so no you don't need to be "on" it to lucid dream.

      And this wasn't "sort of" a lucid dream. As long as you realized you were dreaming it's lucid. Congratulations!

      My first lucid dream was similar to yours. I quickly forgot I was lucid and had almost zero control.
      I find too many articles and books make it seem like your first time will be amazing in terms of clarity and control. True for some, but not for most of us.
      Mine are getting better and yours will too.

      No you do not have to rely on nyquil. It sounds like it served as a lucid aid though. I wonder what in nyquil would make that happen?
